I spent the weekend making 3 kanz and a dredd for my FLGS, and can confirm the detail is wonderful. My sole disappointment is that some of the close combat weapons are repeated in both kits.

I agree the arms look a little gorilla-ish on the kanz (the same arms look fine on the dredd). When I get my own kanz I'll be doing some shoulder/arm surgery - in particular the shooty arms, which I think should be considerably shorter, they're just a gun mounting after all and don't need much articulation. Some of the exhaust pipes are also a bit sticky-outy for my taste, but again easily fixed.

Really looking forward to making 9 unique kanz, with lots of looted bits from other kits/races.

I think you can use the dread weapons on the kans to make them more like the old ones since its just a mounted weapon

But it won't look cool the way a Killa Gorilla should. The arms just don't hang right. They stick out sideways in an ungainly fashion instead of hanging from the shoulder the way an arm should. Take a moment and go to the tutorial forum and look up the "zen" article about converting orks. It seems that GW violates that principle here and it just looks bad.

On the bright side, I do like these models and some quick conversion work on the arms will set you up with some really cool Kans/Def Dread.

All I see is scratch-build and kit-bash heaven... right along side some well detailed, easy-to-keep-in-one-piece kits right out of the box.

I can't wait to get a hold of these things.

Thanks for posting these!

I honestly disagree.

See, the long arms? When I think of these Kanz, I think of them flailing their arms in the air wildly, like a nerd running from a bully in a school. Except this time they're flailing wildly as they clang into battle to kill you.

If I didn't have that mental image of crazed grots flailing their arms in the air as they charge, I would agree that the arms may be a bit off.

I guess, if that's your mental image. Personally, when I see the words "Killa Kan" I don't get a mental image of Poindexter from Revenge of the Nerds.
