Ah well, the deff dread comes with like 2 of'm I think.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

Yeah, I think a lot of people will buy both kits just for all the weapon swapping, e.g. giving blastas to the kans. Although that's a pain if you really only want one kit...

No KMB in the Kan kit, you get two with the Dread. Kan kit has a single Grotzooka, Dread has none. It's not an option for the Dread though, so I'm not surprised by that one.

You can use gun bitz from the Dread to give the Kans more of an old-school look with the bolted-on gunz. I was going to do it with one of these but I figured I'd build them straight for preview purposes.

You could easily magnetize the Deff Dread gunz, but the CC arms across both kits and the Kan gunz are heavy and stick out pretty far; you'd need some strong magnets to avoid the dreaded 'magnet droop'.

Seriously, has anyone ever seen a well-magnetized, non-droopy army on the table (not just in gallery pics)? I've seen lots and lots of 'attempts' at magnetizing, but never the real deal. It just seems like more trouble than it's worth.

I thought the picture in the Dread thread showed a Grotzooka on the sprue.

Nah, the Dread has 2x Rokkit, KMB, and big shoota, and a single scorcha.

That's all you get with the Deff Dread.

No, I mean an Ork. Why would a gretchin need to poke his head out of the top in order to see?

What are you talking about? Why would a ork poke his head out of something he does not pilot and cannot fit in. And why would they do so? they have cameras and and a slit where they can see through, they do not need and ork or even a grot to look out for them.

Anyways back on topic: Can't hardly wait for the dreads and killa kans to come out. (lucky for me they comes out a few days after my birthday )

Any tips on how these guys are going to be magnetized for different arms?

Thanks for these pics!

I mean, I knew I was going to buy a box (or 2) of these anyway, but now...

I'll probably be buying them sooner!

Thanks again!

Yeah, magnetising the _existing_ arms won't be that easy - but happily, converting their 'wrists' a little to make a more stable gun/claw magnetised connection looks easy enough. That's what I'll do for the gun arms on my kans and probably all my dread arms.

So he can see. Duh. As for piloting it, if a grot can do it then how complicated can it really be?

Cameras? Are you kidding me? You really think Orks are going to be sitting around watching a TV display during battle? As for the slit, Orks are way too big to scrunch down any further. I suppose they could wiggle their fingers through it if they wanted.

Yes i think orks in deff dreads and gretchin in killa kan watch a TV display while they are killing everything they see. And how would orks be able to poke their heads out of something they are wired into?

That looks like some sort of camera.

I've been trolling you since you got all rules-lawyery on me for wanting to stick an Ork in my Kan.

As for winning, if it's that important to you...

No need for any justification other than to say that I want an Ork in my Kan with his head poking out. I made one this way with the metal Kans and it was pretty cool. Really gives the model some personality.

Moving flat out..

Is it just me or does anyone else think that the Killa Kans are too close in size to the Deff Dread?

I just personally think the Killa Kans should be more smallish and gretchen-like (not that this will stop me from purchasing them! )

aren't kans driven by grots now though?

Well if you get them sticking out the top with the hatch open it could be like they stopped to laugh at their flattened enemies or something

It's the arms. Not the weapons at the end, but the arms themselves.

- Too many joints.
- Two dimensional shape relying on ball/socket shoulder to give three dimensional look.
- Ungainly feel makes the can look monkey-ish in a "not really cool" way.

I plan to have shoulders extend from the body and hang the arms/guns similary to how imperial titans are set up.

I think they look plenty Orky to me (aka made of random stuff). I will be getting a box of these. As for the kustome mega blaster I'm just moding a flamestorm cannon to get the look I want. If I remember when they are released and I can afford a box I'll post a pic one.

The greater good needs some moo.

Man theyy look great compared to my metal kanz. I am planning on buying a kit for the last 3 i need and a deff dread as I am still short one. The mega blasters will be nice to add too for insta gibs. I am tempted to buy 3 kits and shelve my metal kits to a display case may not be a bad idea.

Ya i think you hit that right on breotan

They didn't really remodel the arms from the previous model so it looks kind of weird now.

Im going to be making a dread bash list so ill probably take some rokkits from the dread and stick em on the kans to help fix the problem a bit (that and theres only one rokkit in the kan set)
