I think they need a bit more colour - at the moment they look just kind of... washed in black... I might also be tempted to make each sire/etc a different colour, so purple on top, blue on the bottom. And I would try and make the armoured plasma cable a brassy kind of colour.

A blazing orange plasma chamber might also look pretty cool on the plasma guy.

Hey guys. Yeah I would normally have a lpot more colours on the guys problem is ive got about 300 infantry and 35-40 tanks in my imperial guard army its bloody huge so i need a very very simple set of colours.

I chose the black with dry brush because its very fast and effective the purple and pink stands out very well and the washed boltgun is a nice tone for any metal parts i want.

It might be hard for you to understand them being so basic but when you have that many models to paint you really need it to be or you go mad.

Anyway the stoormtroopers are just waiting for their backpacks and I have paint stripped a leman russ demolisher which is now in many bits as the process took its toll. Heres a pic.

This tank is about 7 years old it was one of my first imperial tanks. the turret is not the one it had but ive got a box of turrets so it dont matter. It must of had 5 layers of paint it took alot more effort than normal to get it this clean.

Right after an afternoon of painting here is how the demolisher looks now. Well on the way to being done.

There you goe what ya think. I know its very simple just like the storm troopers I need to finish a track do the grey on the bagage and do the lights then maybe do some dust if i can figure out how then its done.

Right Ive finished the leman russ demolisher and taken some better quality pics.

Im quite happy with it for a basic system. I was gonna add a bit of dust to it but I just dont know to go about it.

Ive just paint stripped the models that will make my command squad they are in hot water at the minute getting the residue of them Ill post pics when I have given them new heads and basicly got them how I want for the new army.

Nice tanks. Try weathering powders, or light drybrushes of Scorched Brown and Dheneb Stone, for mud and dust.

I think Ill give that a go on a spear leman russ side sounds good.

Anyway Ive been a busy boy Ive nearly done the command squad and ive built a squad of penal legionaries heres wip pics of them all.

Thats the command squad Im happy with the way they look. Ive gone for the they have gloves look as I think the techy look would be lost with bare skin.

These are the legionaries I know the pictures crap but you get the idea. They have catachan legs the cadian parts with pig iron gas masks I figured the gas masks suit as it makes them look a bit mean and they would get sent into the crapest places out so they would need them, also seperates them from the "real guard"

Anyway what you folks think?

Right Ive been a busy boy today I have paint stripped three more tanks for the army. Here are pictures of the tanks after paint stripping but befor I cleaned the remaining gunk off and repaired and referbed them.
Since therse pics were took I have rebuilt and added storage and bits to all the tanks.

Tonight I will probably spray them all and strat painting my penal legion squad. As always any cnc welcom.

Right heres that update I have been meaning to do. Im working on space wolves at the minute as you can see in my other blog but here are some pic of things I have done since I last updated this blog.

Ive got a wip iron clad which just needs its base doing and mistakes touching up.

A terminator squad thats been done for ages but Ive never put them on here.

A converted space hulk terminator I will use as a deathwing commander.

And a wip thunderfire cannon gunner which needs a few bits still doing and his base.

Hope you like them. I have also done a bit to my imperial guard I will post them tomorrow probably.

where am I? *looks around* Well i'm...errr...I...I...don't know!

The Imperial guard are in some desperate need of colours to break up the black, the eye lenses are on the right track but you need more colour on the rest of the model.
The same applies to the Tanks. They are technically well painted but they need more deviance of colour beyond grey and black. To keep the techy sort of theme you could add some metal or maybe red, to imply links to the adeptus mechanicus. Just a thought.

Right guys I got bored of painting imperial guard today thought I would do a quick update to one of my space marines as they are in need of a bit more detail so I done this chap and took a couple of quick pics.

Basicly Ive added some devlan mud to the model for shading some dark angel green to the edge of the shoulder pads and painted and washed the metal parts instead of them just being a black wash.

To get the whole army like this will be the project for after my tournament guard army is done and I have finished repainting my old baneblade.

Thoughts?
