That is a brilliant collection welcoming all the twisted mad or perverse miniatures of any range, and making them fit. Man, I am afraid you can never call this project done, and that is a bloody good thing !

Well thanks! Perhaps it will keep going, although sketchy miniatures are so common these days that it almost doesn't seem likely anyone could give them all a home. : ) I did paint up three figures I was holding onto for a while for this army: Two shaman and a dancer...

Two are reaper Zodiac and one is a reaper tiefling with some greenstuff to make her more bovine.

I think that is all I have unpainted. I am thinking I will do a giantess based on Reaper's cloud giant. She's affordable in bones, though I don't like working with bones much. One of the figures above was bones, and I had a bunch of issues with paint adhesion. My $2 walmart primer, which has never given me any problems, has issues with the stuff.

Looking good! Very colorful! Can we get a current full army shot?
Also, any thoughts on AoS? Will these guys be rebased?

No rebasing, that is for sure. I was under the impression that you didn't have to for AoS. In some ways it would be a good AoS army, being quite fantastical, which increases my enthusiasm for AoS, which I have yet to play. I would love to do a full army photoshoot, so I will give that a try. I have all kinds of photography ineptitude, so it will be a challenge.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I might work on enhancing the bases with more bones and different colors of flowers and vegetation though.

Painted a Zodiac Dancer - Its interesting what auto adjust does for figures. This is a NOT adjusted image:

Poor choice I think. However, I feel like the adjustment with the photography I'm using exagerates my highlights and makes them look worse. Clearly that is the problem, not anything about the way I'm painting. : )

Did a full Army Photo Shoot just to show how much I'd gotten done over the years....

I have also compiled the Army Statistics, since we now don't use point costs, these will be used to balance it for Age of Sigmar - how many figures, how many skulls, how many bosoms, how many species, how many banners, how many musical instruments, etc. Now I seem to have lost it and would have to take it all out to count it up again. Grrrr! Wait, I found it!

There are 200 miniatures from 28 manufacturers, 2 chariots, 2 large monsters, 9 small monsters, with 31 species (assuming, for example, you count dog beastmen as different from Pig beastmen), 16 standards, 41 skulls, 18 musical instruments, 69 bosums, 16.5 exposed. I feel the skull count is low.

I've been a fan of SDK points for a while now, though the SCGT is a solid pool choice if you prefer that route: http://scrollbuilder.com/

Cool thread. Lots of interesting conversions and a great thematic army.

Thanks folks - I have enjoyed chipping away it over the years.

Now I've taken the plunge and gotten in on the Tgg2 kickstarter. For this army I've got this figure:

I'm thinking grey skin and red hair to match my sirens (she's their queen?):

I also got the Mantis warriors

They are some crazy figures. But how to paint them? I don't want them to look mortal. Iridescent green? There is nothing else green in the army. The demons should stand out from the cultists.

I also got a couple of the Death Dancers. They are even harder to figure out for painting. I was not too impressed with the one I got as a freebie, but we'll see how the actual unit is.

Bright green seems to fit for Mantis chicks

Excited for the TGG2 chicks! And mine too

I painted the Siren queen harpy, but I wasn't that thrilled. Some of the detail, for example the eyes, was so fine it disappeared under a thin primer coat. The pose was just a little too much "vamping in mid air".

I need some improved painting techniques for handling the Raging Heroes stuff. I really do.

Looks good and she certainly stands out amongst her 'servants'.

I See what you mean, their faces are smaller indeed. But she looks good, and the model is a great choice combining both aspects of your army.

Thanks! I might convert the lead siren to be standing on something some day... ...like a rock or crouching ogre's shoulder.

I test painted a Mantis Warrior/Daemonette from raging heroes. I had considered green for contrast, but went with a more typical one the first try. I'm planning to convert many of the Daemonette unit with a bit more weapons and armor. My gold standard for Slaneesh daemons is this illustration:

Which means a bit more armor and the odd sword, spear, or shield. Problem is I need some bits in the same scale. Also, I find Raging Heroes lack of lobster claws disturbing. I also like chaos to have access to a little bit of tech even in a fantasy setting which means the odd gun or two.

In other news, I have a friend with a more conventional/old school Slaneesh/chaos army mostly painted. I"m thinking about challenging him to a mega battle, mostly just to put the figures out the on the field in massive chaotic glory. If he brings his dark elves, I'd need some extra troops, so I'm thinking about converting a Slaneesh champion and banner for each of my Bretonnian units and bringing them along as recent converts to the cause.

Nice scheme on her, I like the 'normal' flesh with dark metal chaos gribble, cool colored hair for accent. Maintains the 'weaponized sexy' theme - also bless Raging for the two breasts (though if there's a thing Raging knows about, its boobs @_@)

Annnnd welcome back!

One thing you have to give R/H props for is the legs/hooves. You can't see them well on this one, but they are much better than GW's oversized chicken feet and really convey speed and grace.

Got some reinforcements, including proper Maenads with Thursi, the actual inspiration for this army in the first place!

Shadowforge figures - my only complaint is that the facial grimaces are a bit extreme - could use more variety on that. They are supposed to look crazy, which is good, but other sculptors have done much better over the years.

Right now I am thinking to put the Raging Heroes stuff into its own project, more science fiction oriented.

Painted the Maenads. I also played a game with the army too, which was inspirational.

Thinking about what more I want to do with the army - I'd like to finish out a unit of 10 maenads, male and female. Thinking about some 28mm norse berserkers with greenstuff togas and such.

I'd like to get a good chariot force - mostly agricultural wagons decked with flowers and blades.
I had a rush of inspiration for the Valley of Innsmere, sort of a slaneesh version of Innsmouth, and its eccentric lord who collects oddities from around the world - gladiators, dancers, muscians, cats. A valley where the men supposedly mostly go off to war as mercenaries (actually they mostly get transformed or sacrificed). Dark hidden rites, vanishing intruders, the whole 9 yards.
