Yes it does mean nothing, because a Name is not rules, nor is Fluff text.

I'm going with the subset people for the only reason that one can go with the subset people:

Its gotten an extra bit tacked onto the beginning but its still named (and thus defined, unless names have suddenly lost their defining potential... looking at you Boltgun/Stormbolter argument) Terminator with a capital (i.e. proper noun) T. Does it follow the rules granted by Terminator armor in the armory? No. Is it restricted by the Rhino/Razorback special rule targeting models in Terminator armor? Yes.

Look at it this way: if people want to split hairs thats all fine for picking apart the flaws in the writing for this or that rule and have a good laugh about the oversights until GW pays attention and words everything as precisely as possible and hey lets just all go play MTG instead if we have to pick apart every word for correctness.

I guess it's fine for babbling about RAW vs RAI but seriously guys, would you actually be such a schmuck as to actually do it in a real game? Good luck not getting your figs stolen, or a beatdown in the parking lot if you do.

The rule is clear as [something that is incredibly clear]. Njal has "Runic Terminator Armour" that follows it's own rules. "Terminator Armour" prevents embarking upon Rhinos and Razorbacks. "Runic Terminator Armour" does not. Nothing in the Rhino or Razorback rules prevent "Runic Terminator Armour" from embarking, so he can.

It depends, if you are a nice guy who can have a laugh while we play with Spess Mahrines, Spess Elfdar (in Spess) with Spess Trees, then No, I would not insist on allowing it.

If, however, you are a whiny child who threatens bodily harm to people over toy soldiers, then yes, I will insist upon it, just to annoy you.

This is getting beyond belief.

The only difference with the runic armour (with a u) is that it gives saves against psychic attacks.

It doesn't shrink in the wash and is otherwise the same as Terminator (without a u) armour.

Now there is no rule written that I can't call my Rhinos Egbert.
Since Egbert Rhinos are not mentioned anywhere in the texts, is does not say that aren't invisible, and therefore have an automatic cover save.

Actually you can't do that, as no where in anyrulebook does it state that you can take Egbert Rhinos with your rules definition. You can take Rhinos, and you can take Runic Terminator Armour, and as both of those choices are legal units in the codex with their own defined rule set. Nowhere have I found Egbert Rhinos, or a rule that allows you to create your own unit rules.

As for whether he would legally do this, he knows that he can never really do it in real life. He just likes finding loopholes and slip-ups in rules/laws. The kid actually read the Canadian Law Code for christs sake. He just wants everyone to acknowledge he is right.

Just to nitpick: The line before it doesn't say that it is an ensorcelled suit of Terminator Armour. It simply says that Njal has the ability to ensorcell Terminator armour...



I think it's safe to say that everyone knows what they mean, though. Yes, there is a RAW argument for it not using the TDA rules... but you won't find anyone who actually plays it that way.


Since this has been going in circles for some time now, I think it's time to give it a rest.
