I love this model. I have to try chainsaw idea. I'm working on my Redemptionists (Necromunda) again and cannot find my Zealots. This is awesome and I'm going to give this a try.

quick update of what's been going on

continuing with the chaos space marines - i've been experimenting with white undercoats followed by successively darker ink washes. i'm not sure about the khorne guy, but i'm fairly happy with the other two.

Hi all,

bit more of an update - i managed to get around to some painting !!!

here's the 80% completed death guard unit - all that i think is remaining is the banner bearer, and another bolter guard.

i've doubled up on a few models for variety, i.e. 2 x melta, 2 x plasma. i've also got 2 champions, a magnetised one (pf / ps option) or the nurgle champion who i could propbably run as a pw seargeant

Wow loving the Plague marines and the Chaos Lord looks fantastic. The tyranids look excellent, a really interesting colouration. Careful with the those magnets, I hear it can get a bit crazy in terms of numbers used when tyranids are concerned, lol.

yeah lol the models are from before the update, so the options available are numerous and many... ;-) .


i'lll still try and paint them all, cause it's on the agenda and i said i would. ;-)

Hello fellow dakkaites!

A brief update from my workbench.

Nearly finished with the tyrant pieces, but some parts finally arrived yesterday.... Space wolves!

So far its early days. I've got two boxes of troops (1 old, 1 new), a rhino/razorback, a 2003 wolf priest and 2 chaos warhounds (for wolf conversions).

I need to get some running legs, for my blood claws. But they seem too expensive at most bits sights. Can anyone suggest a good sight?

Hi all, another quick update - been green stuff-ing the wolves and i think they're ready for painting.

i'm going to try resin for my wolves, so they're all on the basic bases for now.

The hive tyrant / carnifex bitz are all completed with the exception of a lash whip and stranglethorn cannon. the end is nigh!!!!

Looking good Kensei, those hounds look top notch, great conversion, and I'm looking forward to the finished photos of those tyranids, its a great scheme.

As for bits sites, I would say look into unboxing videos on youtube. See whether you really only need the legs. Chances are you'll be able to use most of the assault box through your SW force. BIts sites are great for the odd special piece but it is really a false economy for anything large scale.

If you're smart with the pieces you should be able to make some nice running poses and still have the bits to make a sky claws squad too. HTH

Hey all long time no type

a quick update - wolves this time. I've based the grey hunter pack and washed them.

I was going to run with a wolf priest HQ, but tactics seem to indicate that rune priest is the better choice, followed by the Wolf lord.. THus enters Wolf Lord Perryn and Rune Priest Thom (little plug for a certain awesome series).

With Thom i've tried to carve the runes into the armour, to make it look more rune priest-y. i'll have another go with a finer scapel before starting.

1 small update on my work in progress. been kind slow with work and all, so i figured i had better get something completed, especially before skyrim arrived and dominated my life :-)

the first part of my new grey hunter squad. inspired by Perryn Ay'barra from the Wheel of Time series. wolf huard will hopefull be altered to become the companiions. :-)

New up from the table. I've jumped back onto my wolves again.

Founded good mix for the amour, so I'm in the process of coating the modes I've already done, and managed to start another few, along with some really rough work on the wolf priest.

Next step will be to bring the bronze armour out a little better (thoughts?) But I don't want it too shiny...
