I may shoot like a bolter round but instead of exploding it should spray plasma everywhere.

well, thats sort of how plasma works.

a "ball" of plasma is formed in the firing chamber held in place by a magnetic field.

the gun then projects that magnetic field in a general direction.

once the field contacts solid matter or gets outside the projection range of the gun the field collapses, allowing the plasma to expand in an outwards direction. any matter in the general vicinity is super heated by the escaping plasma.
