Originial goal was, to create a kit, so i could sprue them up and have an excellent way of creating
a brigade for myself.

But i could cast them and sell them, if enough people would be interested.
At the moment we have the plans for the first kit ready. Here are its contents.

2x 5 Heads (2 Helmeted, 1 Baret and 2 non-helmetted) ( Done )
10x 1 Torso, Armoured ( Done )
2x 5 Legs ( Done )
1x R and Left arm for a CCW and a pistol ( Coming soon )
1x R and L arm for a special weapon. ( Waiting for curing and pics. )
4x 2 R and L arms for a rifle ( Coming soon )
5x 2 Backpacks ( Coming soon )

Weapons would not be included, just arms and hands. We have the special weapon arm ready, and
are making tests fits/pictures. Will be up soon.

We are still in development stage, and are perfecting the greens/changing it to my/Alex/youre feedback.
but these plans for the sprue are set in stone. What greens are going to end up, we haven't decided yet,
but we will ofcourse announce it once we know

If anyone would be interested in a sprue, or several perhaps even, could you please tell me?
( Ofcourse, this would not be a purchase, just an indication that i know how well people like this project idea
and an indication how many sprues i need to cast. )

Anyway, i'l keep you all informed if more news comes up.

Jacob

Heya everyone.

First two compleet models, a the Commander with her head on, an arm comparison, and a scale reference.
Comments please. ( Commander was actually finished, seemed like the pictures where taken crudely the first time. New ones up now. )

Arms

Compleet 1 ( I love this one, keep in mind theyre clay to hold them together, so its not a snug and precise fit yet. and the with is a bit broader )

Compleet 2

Commander with head on.

And Compleet 1 + Commander for scale references. ( Commander is huge :S )

Well, we are well on our way. New updates are going to come up every day!

The commander certainly is a tall one! Yes, the commander's legs are a bit too long, her thighs maybe a tiny bit too chunky. The first one with the lasgun, I found her hips a tiny bit too wide (or her waist too thin). Aside from those bits of criticism, they look like they're coming along very well.

I would definately buy a sprue of female guard if you made sprues and put them on the market. It would also be great to have all different bust sizes, waist thicknesses etc so one could mix and match.

Looks great, just a small suggestion. you'd probably want to model accessory bits, like ammo punches, canteens, separate so you can place them on different spots on the model for more variety.

Very interesting, looks good so far. Keep up the good work. I really like the commander pose. I would give her a riding crop (as a trademake item) and a power sword.

Yeah, the head of the female is from Micro Arts, the other is from Pig iron.

Really awesome work, you gotta keep it up. Ever consider seeing if another mini company would be interested in mass producing your sprues? Maybe you could work out a deal with one of the smaller companies around.

Either way, I can't wait to see the totally finished product.

I realize I am getting in my two cents a bit late in your project, but in case it matters, here it is. I have read through the entire thread, and first up, I would like to say these are excellent pieces. All in all, one has to expect the first tries to be a bit crude, but the more you guys have been working it, the better the sculpts have been. Specifically, I want to point out that the new arms are much more proportional to the bodies and will be perfect for these sets. Also, I have read a critique on the leader model being too tall and if it were just another guardswoman, I would agree, but it is the leader model and the fact that it stands out head and shoulders above the others is a unique touch that just seems right. I have a set of the Pheonix club female guards and although they are no longer for sale from Phoenix, they are still hot items on these boards. I am a huge tread head and since the guard are the troops that come with the tanks, I have noticed that they get kinda plain after a few squads. I am sure that is a true statement for a lot of guard players out there. That said, I would fully endorse listing your leftover models for sale when you do create them. It will help recoup what you spent on making them at the very least and maybe put some change in your pocket if they are as big a hit as I expect them to be. Further, on the debate for resin vs plastic, I vote for resin. Why, you ask? Because once they are put together and fielded, you really want those unique pieces to stand out. I mean, this is more than a game for most of us, it is a hobby and most hobby enthusiests want to present the best collection to their peers as possible. Anyway, I think the extra cost for the resin, since it has better detail, is the right move. Options are cool, but I do not think they will be necessary since you are not making guns for them either, simply use the leftover accesseries. Also, a bust suggestion that I second is for the sleeveless t-shirt suggestion someone made and I reference the Aliens screen shot from earlier in the post for a visualization. That should satisfy the breast size enthusiests. Bust size is probably relative to preference and I think that if you had different sizes and you were expanding the project to include selling them out, that those of us that are interested in them can trade unwanted bust sizes for the ones we do want. Ditto with the heads. On the subject of heads, additional input for any new ones would be a ponytail head, a double braid head, a head with a cossack hat (like the vostroyans) and a witch cap head. Another thought (although I thnk it may be too late for your project) is that the hair and helmets could be seperate and the heads could all be bald, but the same size so that the hair and helmets can be attached to different faces. I have no idea if that is feasible, but I was just having flashbacks to my GI Joe days when we did the same thing with the different helmets. I recall one of your posts that mentioned using valkryes to deploy the vets, have you thought of maybe casting their version of the grav chute that the Elysians use? Also, are you considering a set of arms for the heavy weapons teams or a rocket launcher? Lastly, I would definitely be interested in any of the extra models you have if you follow through with selling any (put me down for a full platoon), whether you use any of my suggestions or not...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
oooh...thought of something else after I hit submit...have you thought of any specific designs for the regiments colors and standards? I suck at artistry, but I am sure there is someone out there that likes this project that can help you in that department....

Again i am a bringer of somewhat bad news.

I have had a few major setbacks in my own personal life over the past few months,
my fiance leaving me, loss of my home and some financial debt she left me with.
I am in the progress of building a better life for myself, in a different city.

My apologies for anyone who was anxious and toke the time to give us the feedback we needed.
I havent been paying the time a project like this deserves, but there is good news to.

I have found a new home, moving up to it this week. A new job/college and even a little romance along
the way perhaps. So i will try to give this project a restart in the next couple of weeks.

More to come

Just a side note....I had several sprues of the Phoenix Club female cadians.

They were bigger than the male Cadians and totally looked out of place. And the heads did not paint up all that well.

The difference between a male and female soldier is basically height. I'd get around that by maybe putting a piece of styrene under the male figures to make them taller.

The more female looking troops to me would be ones lounging out of armor, or perhaps officer types without chest armor, to emphasize the bust without making it look silly.

So far all of the made up female figures have had man hands and look awful ( no offense).

Hope you get your life back in order...I know all about the ex gf leaving one in debt....

The hands thing has more to do with GW then anything else. Their 28mm 'heroic' scale distorts heads, feet and hands, making them disproportionate, which gives an impression that the torso is vertically compressed. To try and work around this, most artists resort to what I refer to as the watermelons.
