Ok, so now this thread has people thinking SoBs are sexually attractive on the table top.

That's not exactly what I meant. More-so that their overall presentation is one that's appealing on that level, but there's a lot more depth to their character than just that and I don't see it overly emphasized in the fluff. Hopefully that makes more sense.

I have yet to see an Imperial Guard army that is made up for nothing but females, same with Eldar.

I've personally seen an all female eldar army. Conversions using the female guardian sculpts were used thorough the army. To make Female Dire Avengers. Granted it was a mech army so not much infantry but still.

Granted, sisters on the whole were a dumb idea meant to cater to a specific demographic - but then again, most every army was.
Dark Eldar : Goths
Tau : Animu^^
Sisters : Virgins (Possibly female, but most females I've seen won't play the army on the very basis that it's all female haha.)
Tyranids : Aliens fanbois
Orks : Overweight, loud gamers (TFG)
Eldar : Faerie-kin, possible larpers
Space Marines : Little Timmy.
Necrons : Capitalize on the Terminator movies? Like, 10 years too late? Possible undead tie in.
I mean, all the armies are pretty silly when you come down to it, but I suspect the people who would utter things like "[X] Don't belong in the universe" are the kind of narrow minded, inclusive gamer who believes that their view of fantasy is the only one and any deviation from the familiar is out of place, stupid and deserves to be squatted.
For the record, I like the SOB aesthetic and playstyle. The fact they are psychotic, god obsessed - martyring-zealots needs to go, but that's simply my opinion and not fact.

I personally think the sisters are a beautiful army and they are the reason that i am thinking about playing 40k. certainly everyone has opinions on the looks of different armies and are attracted to them for different reasons.

People tend to gravitate towards the army that represents their true, or idealized selves. I'll admit it, I'm a melodramatic, elitist, sadistic goth and as such - I play Dark Eldar and Chaos predominantly. Red Lives : Will you cement my theory and admit the fact you probably play berserkers and barbarians in D&D, Heroquest, Fantasy Video games and the like? Possibly with unresolved anger issues? ;P

Offend me? Lol, now you're talking like if I was an American. Im Scandinavian so nothing gw does offends me. I just think there's enough males in 40k as it is. If you prefer men that's your prerogative, I prefer women.
If you like men in armour sculpted to look like naked men go ahead. I prefer to look at women, even if they happen to be in battle corsets. I do agree the wings etc looks good on them but the heads and torso looks like gak.
This is my opinion and Im not changing it.
Im not really sure how to take your comment in general as you are suggesting if nipple armour offends me Im heterosexual and if it does not offend me Im homosexual. It does not offend me but Im heterosexual so what does that mean?
Like I said, Im Scandinavian so Im not easily offended by sexual things as you are suggesting. I just think the models look like gak.

As an atheist I like the fluff of worshiping the Emperor as a living god. As a pacifist I think the martyring zealots are great, especially the Arco-flatulants As a hobbyist I think the models are cool, particularly the OTTness of the exorcist, penitent engine and some of the weird and twisted henchpersons. As a man in touch with his feminist side I think it is brilliant that the sisters are, in the words of Annie Lennox "doin it for themselves". Unfortunately the only player of SOB at our FLGS is also TFG! ( WAAC Uber nerd with too tight trousers and extra creepy on top).
A new Codex, some new plastics of the old favourites, a few new models/concepts/artworks with maybe more of a steampunk aesthetic and I will happily start using the WH army I have collected for years but currently hardly ever play.
The Inquisition IS the 40K universe. Psychotic, paranoid, contradictory, malevolent, violent, and above all else, a little bit CREEPY.

So what should they be like? How do you create a female faction that is not sexist and makes the women look strong willed and combat experts.
Make them like space marines? Then it would just be space marines with boobs.
I do agree they got the whole fanatical religious zealots (reminds me of a middle eastern religious group) going too far at times. They even kill sisters who shows any sign of psyker powers.
From what I understand they are kinda based on Joan D Ark (or whatever she was called). How do you differentiate an all female army from an all male like SM?
Its really quite hard, if they are not fanatics etc they become SM with boobs. If they arnt combat expert then GW is sexists etc.
Saying good looking women have no place in 40k is kinda slowed, thats like saying good looking women have no place in todays armies either.
Most women look good, thats how they are created They are not buffed, neither are most women in our armies, but they are still capable in battle.
I can agree the boob plates are a bit oversized on the models, but I think that might have to do with GWs "heroic" scale. Big heads, hands, feet , weapons and boobs?

I do agree they got the whole fanatical religious zealots (reminds me of a middle eastern religious group) going too far at times. I honestly don't care if they are "sexist" (what does that even mean within a fantasy context?), I just think completely ripping off Joan Of Arc was lazy writing. There are other ways to present the model of female warrior you requested, I just don't get paid to brainstorm those things. I'm also not exactly sure how much of your reply was directed to me personally, so I'll add that simply making them Marines with Boobs might have made them sell better to begin with, pewter be damned? General Mayhem - I'm not exactly sure I follow the atheist appeal to false worship, if that's where you were going with your comment about their worship? Also, I don't know this for a fact - but I (hope) believe that GWS are reserving the steam-punk aesthetic for the Demiurge, whenever they decide to give them a book. I know what you see in the SOB style that points you towards that conclusion that they could be furthered by cornering that angle, but I think they more-so represent a Baroque/Gothic sensibility.

Still not in all branches mind you.
In some they are more capable such as pilots and thus are included, in others they are less capable such as spec ops and thus are almost never seen.

I was trying to imply that anyone who is seriously bothered by bat nipples should accept their homosexuality. As far as being scandanavian or american, I do not see the connection between those and being offended by anything GW does. I dont know any americans who are offended by gw products.

I feel it necessary to chime in at this point: I don't understand your logical leap there. I think the armor looks absurd. I think that the ancient Roman armor it is based off of looks absurd. I'm heterosexual. I would offer the equally inflammatory and baseless counterpoint that I believe that an intense supporting of the style of armor would obviously reflect on someone's sexuality such that it would imply they supported the sexual habits of the Ancient Romans themselves, which is a dark and lewd conversation fit for a different board.
My advice is to not wield sexuality as if it were a weapon and try a different course of debate.
