Nothing handy. I loves my big hats too and when they made the Indie GT rulebook, I dusted them off and have been busy finishing up painting and even made my first eruption gun out of green stuff (looks like gak though). If you want to see some great conversions and models, head over to http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/ there are some truly talented people on that forum.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Thanks for the link. I'm planning to go normal dwarfs but chaos dwarfs I feel always had a certain style about them that was entertaining. Will be sure to check that site out.

It's an absolute waste of money. In an age where there are more and more games giving out their rules free in .pdf format online, why pay $75 for a copy of the rules. They should have priced it at $40 like everyone else's rulebooks are. Maybe $50 if they wanted to do something fancy. Double the price of other companies that put out rulebooks for games? You're ripping off your customers.

Most of the book is absolutely worthless anyway and not worth even close to $75. Probably a good 30-40% of it is just advertisements for GW minis.

I say wait for the battlebox in September. There are ways to work around having to buy the rules between now and then. With the battlebox, you spend the same money but get minis you can either use or trade to other people. Don't let GW rip you off...

If you're haveing a hard time justifying it to your spouse perhaps you're in the wrong hobby. These games aren't cheap, never have been and never will. God knows I blow close to $200 a month on stuff. July is gonna be a just abit more then that though. Of course I buy my wife big expensive things for her birthday/holidays and ask for very little in return. Perhaps thats why I never hear about it.

Also to the OP go check out the book it is massive and just plan awsome. I can't wait to have my own in two weeks time, well less then two weeks time now.

I got to have a look first hand this week at the new rulebook in a games workshop. The artwork is great and generally top notch quality all round. I'd say its well worth the price for the standard book.

Yeah I've seen the book too...

Dozens of pages of mini photos that have already appeared in other books.

Dozens of pages of art that have already appeared in army books or in White Dwarf.

Advertisements for White Dwarf subscriptions.

Entire sections which are just photos of minis. These are basically advertisements for GW's minis and like I said before a lot of photos are in other publications. I don't know why anyone should pay a multi-million dollar company money to advertise to you.

Much of the artwork is good, but a lot of it is awful... there's a multi-page spread of a Bayeaux Tapestry type illustration which talks about the history of the WFB world. Not only is this info available free online, but the "illustration" is John Blanche (an already piss poor excuse for an artist) at his utter worst. It lacks any kind of rendering whatsoever and looks like it was scrawled in about 10 minutes. It is unclear and where it should have distinct iconic sections highlighting specific events, it is a blurry soup of vague pen and ink sketches that tell you nothing about what's actually going on in the history.

So though there is some good art in the book, you are paying mostly for rehashed material and advertisements. You are being ripped off by buying this book...
