At GenCon, there was a Vampire LARP going on one year where this one guy followed 2 others into our HackMaster gaming room. The first two guys were talking to one another. The third guy had is hands held up to opposite shoulders with two fingers sticking up.

I asked a friend of mine what the hell they were doing.

My buddy: "Oh, that's that old vampire LARP game. His hands on opposite shoulders indicate that he is invisible. Two fingers indicates his level of invisibility. You have to have some other ability that will allow you to see him. Otherwise, he can just follow you around all day, invisible, gathering information."

Me: "Oh, that's pretty lame. OK, back to the game. Mr. GM, is my character drunk yet?"

To each their own.

I witnessed one funny scene when the new Space Hulk had just appeared in stores as promotion-material when there were just some of the boxes left. Our ,,redshirt" was always screaming "SPACE HULK" when someone entered the store...verbal advertising. We were just having a HUGE WHFB game, with around 15 players and a lot of spectators. So it was really tight in that small GW. One of the visitors tripped in the mass of people over someone´s foot and nearly fell but managed to stay upright. The redshirt came and said: " If you want to experience this kind of tightness again, then buy SPACE HULK!"

He´s a very nice guy and one of the best GW-employees I´ve met, btw.

Blessed be the mind that is too small for doubt!

@Jihadnik, only thing I can say is you live the dream buddy! Nothing like running amok among civilians dressed in an awesome outfit and catching the ladies off guard. So, I have no experience in your realm of fun, but I woulda gotten some numbers in apologies for the smacking and invited them to the after party, girls wandering in the middle of no where, they're asking to be invited! jus my 2 cents

The 12 year old at my FLGS who set up the whole board with ruined buildings and then proudly claimed that because the battlefield is city, all of the spaces between the buildings were roads, and so his trukks and warbikers got extra movement. Nowadays, we're really got at not acknowledging his presence.

I've learned not to knock the LARPers. Chicks in bikinis love Star Wars costumes.

And so do stars of "Who wants to be a Superhero."

I dunno...

I like threads like this, they make me feel good about myself for not being totally nerdishly absorbed in 40K.

Anyway, my contribution is some slack-jawed mouthbreathing teenager at my local GW. I was gluing together the plastic WoC Warhounds, and give each one asymmetrical horns. When the store manager asked me why I'd done this i replied: "Symmetry is for the Weak!"

the kid spent a good while lecturing me on why it was 'sanity' not 'symmetry'

During an Apocalypse game at my LGS, there was a guy that came in wearing a steel helmet.

When his Baneblade was destroyed, he took off his helmet and slammed it on the ground.

He was then promptly kicked out of the store

Whose avatar? Mine isn't too special, it's just a hastily googled picture and 10 mins on MS paint.
