I love playing SPEHS MAREENZ because they are super kewl (x2).

Seriously, though, I love painting customizing and painting Chaos (though the latest dex sees me playing little). Same for UM and Space Wolves (who ARE SUPER AWESOME++). Been painting up some BAs bc I love the idea of an all jump force and tinkering with IG because I like the idea of a Mad Max/Borderlands style post-apoc group.

Tau are dumb, though. Seriously, communist fish people? IN SPACE! I guess they had to get the anime looking stuff in there somehow. Orks and Eldar (Tolkein- IN SPACE!) are also dumb conceptually, but have nice, distinctive, models and are so ingrained into 40k that they help define it. Plus, you have to have something not in power armor to kill ;-)

I had this idea a while back for an Imperial Renegade Army to accompany my CSM. You should let me know how it turns/turned out

Tau are fun. Although sometimes I do wonder how many people only play them because "OMG AZN KAWAII!!!" Although, to be honest, I have no idea how this idea started. If anything Eldar owe more to Asian influence than Tau, but that's another rant waiting to happen.

I like them because they're a very mobile force and because they can be absolutely devastating if you use the units to support each other properly. The fact my regular opponents all have developed a reflexive tic that only expresses itself during my shooting phase is satisfying too.

P.S. The look on my opponent's face when I jump my battlesuits back behind the hill in the assault phase is also very gratifying.

Like watching other people play video games (badly) while blathering about nothing in particular? Check out my Youtube channel: joemamaUSA!

Not really, they just got too boring for me.

I don't own a Space Marine army in the first place, just a single miniature (marine with flamer) I painted back in third edition when I finally made up my mind "okay, I want to start collecting" and got that from a friend. Then looked at the fluff in the codex, got bored, and looked for something more interesting.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Not trying to bash Tau players at all- a mobile, shooty force is great fun. I was more knocking them conceptually. Yeah, space elfs have some super yin yang action going on. But there's is more 80's AZN (think mustache, white hi tops, and Japanese headband) and Tau are more Anime AZN. Both are kind of dumb, but for different reasons.
