Right here: I complain, but still buy their products and play their games.

I have no real problem with GW, but buy lots of stuff form secondary markets, not really supporting GW directly.

It still burns me to this day that the thread I started last year with wanting to open a communication with GWS about our gripes, somehow evolved into a boycott petition despite me saying in every post I made in that thread (starting with the first!) that I had no interest in a boycott and wasn't trying to organize one.

I've never been to a GW store as the nearest one is 100 miles away and we had a more universal gameing store only 30 miles away (i live in west cornwall - takes forvever to get anywhere -but I'm sure all the americans living in the mid west will laugh their heads off at my reluctance to go 100 miles to get to a shop!). that was back in the 90s when i was young.

but these days i don't even go there - I'm a kinda normal looking 29 year old woman - it just feels embarrassing - like the assistant will come up to me and say "alright love - looking for a toy for your son?" and i will have to say no - and if i even had a son i sure would'nt spend that much on him - its too expensive - Internet all the way.

Of course i don't want to accuse GW of sexism or stereotyping - the vast 90% of women in GW shops probably are shopping for their sons or husbands! All my female friends except two think i am a total Uber-Nerd for loving the war games.

On subject a little more - it does annoy me when they change the rules - i can still remember every single rule and most of the stats for the edition i played (pre 1997?) and then they go and change it all! its like having someone move everything in your flat around and then trying to find something - things can't stay the same forever - but its a drag when they change things i like

Such is the nature of the internet I guess. It's like mob rule...only with less thought.

Shouldn't this be: "How do you get your Nerdrage on?"

My only problem with GW is they still maintain this we are a hobby comp.

to clarify that's ditto for buying off discount, I think GW are 'cunning' and only getting to the level of 'sinister' very slowly. They closed their official forums, sue fansites etc. Which is fine because they're obliged to protect their IP. However if they had a bit of discretion about who to sue (no 1 fansite for a 2nd rate mmo... bad move!), supported clubs a bit more. I don't like the americanised 'have a nice day'/ 'how can I be falsely friendly and flog you some minis today' (not saying all americans are false in their friendlness - they're not.. but brits doing it probably are!) although again not all places are like that.

Bigger gaming tables would be nice in stores as you cannot have a proper game on a 4x4 table - it favours small assaulty armies too heavily ( unless 1000pts or less)

But I get my 'hate' on by supporting FLGS/independant retailers/online stores where possible. I only wish my city had a FLGS but the last one went under and with my phd starting I cannot do it. (and my wife doesn't know enough about game rules to do it)
