Somehow, I doubt most Space Marines have that kind of a conscience.

Inquisitor Eisenhorn order a Marine to kill a child(who were already "converted" by chaos.) who were come running at marines foots.
But Marine hesitated(cuz child look normal. But Eisenhorn is psyker he can feel it)
Then child explode and marine died.

So at least,Marine think "killing child is abnormal"

There are plenty of cases where we've seen they do.

If that's the case, whatwhat, then it would have to depend on the chapter. Many have no such compunctions (Flesh Tearers come to mind), whereas others would be less destructive (Salamanders).

Since this topic has already reached a disturbing third page, I might point out that the presence of the omophagea allows them to absorb the 'genetic memory' of children by eating them.
