You guys are forgetting, terran is not all the human race only a tiny part that was seperated from the rest of humanity. The rest of the human race never enters game play and have way better technology then terran.

Well SC ripped a lot of its background off of 40k. But 40k ripped a lot of its background off from various sources. So I have to give best the best background award to some really old writer no one's ever heard of.

Gamewise, I pick 40k. Cuz I suck at starcraft.

If it was universe vs. universe, the SC universe survives simply because no-one notices them. When they are finally noticed, the grimdark rolls over them without pause.

Man for man, I think the Terrans could outfight the Guard. Battlecruisers, while weak compared to 40k ships, are numerous (there was a cutscene in SC that had dozens of them on-screen around a single world), Siege Tanks and Thors could stand up to Guard armor, and I think Terran Marines, Marauders, and Reapers are individually superior to Guardsmen. I picture them all as about veteran-level. The problem is that the Guard have them outnumbered squintillions to one.

The Zerg I feel would do well. They're basically Tyranids, after all, and the Imperium has a hellishly hard time with Tyranids. Once again, the problem is that they would suddenly be little fish in a very, very big pond indeed. If Kerrigan was smart, she would chow down on little worlds and avoid major conflict until the Zerg were much, much larger.

The Protoss, I honestly have no idea about. They seem to me more like Space Marines than anything else; Zealots are several times as tough as humans, armed with what are basically paired power weapons. Immortals are walking tanks with shields that shrug off heavy weapons but allow weak hits through (not sure what the reasoning behind that one was). They're very technically advanced, but also in a very precarious position as of the end of Brood War; one planet, homeworld destroyed, surrounded by enemies. I rate their chances of survival as lowest of the three.

Ah, right. You're one of those "old school" starcraft people that won't change to SC2 because you suck at it in comparison.

Terran are like well equipped Imperial Guard, but with much much worse training. Probably almost as armored as a sister of battle, but with worse training, leadership, and weaponry. The 200 shot ammo boxes are 8mm, the .50 kal round shown in the cutscene is from a weapon with much less capacity. The Impaler rifle can fire different ammunition types.
