Subject: New game from THQ, teaser image inside...
Bitchin' - that looks more like The Last Stand equipment screen than the standard DoW2 one though. Whatever, I'm always on board for more Orks.
EDIT: I'm also guessing the new race will be Imperial Guard, since many of their assets are already in-game. They're visually appealing and offer a new army type to the game (that is, cheap infantry and lots of vehicles)

Yeah, a cheap shooty army. We don't really have one of those in DoW2-- sure you can try making one with Orks or Tyranids, but Guard just do it more iconically.

But aren't Sisters totally best buds with the Inquisition and stuff
I imagine they'll have an Inquisitor who'll be keeping an eye on the Blood Ravens due to the events of Chaos Rising, if anything. Grey Knight Terminators, on the other hand...

I am assuming that the new race is tau, since the orks are a CC type army, while the tau are the complete opposite. But i dont want no Inquisition; I hate the inquisition

Guard are also the not a CC type army, and are far more likely given that Guard actually appeared in the video whereas Tau didn't.

Inquisitors locate Blitza's house and knock down the door. Barging into his room, they aim their weapons at him. "DIE HERETIC!". The screams of a dead man are heard, followed by gun shots.

And I hope for some sentinels, artillery strikes, and Leman Russ Battle Tanks.
I know sentinels will be in-- after all, Relic already released concept art with a Sentinel in it. But the LRBT might be a bit too heavy for DoW2's scale, given that a Predator is the heaviest tank in-game. The LRBT is heavier, better armed, and better armored than the Predator, and its weapons are nastier... though it's also supposed to be a bit slower.

The Ork campaign will be about as long as Chaos Rising, and have a similar structure. There are several branching and optional missions. You also have wargear, leveling, and lots of cool new stuff to unlock.
You start out with a small number of heroes with limited skills and abilities, then quickly unlock more and more abilities for them, as well as find new types of gear to use. In addition to this, you start out able to produce small numbers of sluggas and lootas, and eventually are stomping around with large numbers of orks and ork vehicles.
one of the changes coming is the melee/ranged trees are being merged into a single offensive tree. We also make a point of unlocking a new ability with every level, guaranteed. This means you are get to choose a new ability or trait every time, and the rewards are always meaningful.

Given that its an Ork campaign I have to question why they're calling it "Retribution," maybe they should have gone with a different name.

I've always wondered how guard would work in the DOWII format. The game emphasizes these 4 or so squads running around doing these missions, but keeping the basic size of the units the IG would be outclassed since they can't take advantage of their numerical superiority. I imagine they need to either make the units all non-basic Veterans, Storm Troopers, Ogryn, and Ratlings... give the commander a "without numbers" type ability... or simple give them 5 or 6 squads where the other factions might otherwise have 4. I could imagine the IG would take the mind set of your units representing a veteran platoon, to explain the smaller squads, where with level progression outside untis like ogryns or sentinels could be attatched.

Curious to see if the various race campaigns all have the same story from varying perspectives or if each one has a unique plot. Hopefully it's the latter of the two options since it would be disappointing to me if the blood ravens campaign didn't continue from the end of the last expansion.
Here's hoping the new race is the Imperial Guard
Wonder if we'll be able to import our chaos rising saves for use in Retribution.

Inquisition having some role in certain single player campaigns could make sense given the events of Chaos Rising.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment. Keep it up and you could turn into one of the more annoying forum members who bitterly cling to certain things or actively denounce everything until there is proof, though even when presented with proof they will deny it. They also like using *'s a lot to emphasize that they mean *serious* business.

Or you could end up like the DoW2 official forums dweebs, who constantly go around bashing every faction but the one they want to see put in, saying only THEIR chosen faction deserves to be added in (Tau fanboys saying Guard should be dropped, for example).
Nasty breed of people that. If you can call them people with a straight face.

I'm beyond happy that it's an Ork campaign. The Ork/Chaos campaign in Winter Assault was the best part of the original Dawn of War series. I was disappointed that Chaos Rising was from the Blood Raven's perspective yet again.

Remember the Blood Ravens have some 'betrayal' issue/plot in the past game.

Eurogamer: When are we going to see Dawn of War III?
Danny Bilson: Retribution's going to ship in February, and then we start laying out Dawn of War III. You can probably expect it between 18 months and two years after that.
It may be a more digital free-to-play experience with all the depth and quality of a Relic RTS.
Eurogamer: Any new races?
Danny Bilson: You'll see at gamescom.
Eurogamer: So Dawn of War III may be like Company of Heroes Online, then?
Danny Bilson: Could be. It all depends on how COHO does, and how it works and how people respond to it. If they do that would definitely drive us to... Now Dawn of War III, either way, is going to have a much larger strategic component to it, more of a global battle going on with little tactical things, sort of MMO-like.
Dark Millennium was also mentioned
Eurogamer: I've been excited about the Warhammer 40K MMO for a long time. When will it be out?
Danny Bilson: A couple more years. It really is about two years out.
You know being an ork is a completely different experience than being a Space Marine, and being a Space Marine alone is a very different experience than being a scout or an Imperial Guard or any of the other Imperium of Man that you're going to see in this trailer.
What does being an Inquisitor mean? That's down the road somewhere. I always say too much in these things, but I get excited.
But you won't be able to be a Space Marine right away, because that's a very unique class, if you know the universe. The road there is a great road, and they are in the game.
The Wolves are fantastic. I'm a Dark Angel fan myself. Neither of us are the core race in there. But I'm insisting we encounter and have experiences with some of the other core six chapters along the way.
Some of that will come later. Some of it'll be at launch. I can't wait to come across that Dark Angel fort and those guys and their mission and what they're all about, because that's my favorite chapter.
But the Wolves are phenomenal, and I'm sure they're represented somewhere down the road as well. You know how deep this universe is, that we have so much cool stuff to mine.

Gamescon is going on right now IIRC, which means it'll be sometime this week they announce it I suppose.

Also, they have a ton of Guard stuff featured in Chaos Rising. Maybe =I= with IG allies as a new rave? One can hope.
Sounds feasible maybe an Inquisitor with members of his/her retinue filling the role of other squads, i.e Inquisitorial Storm Troopers, Veteran Guardsman etc.
