I've been getting some teaser images of late from THQ (though they have been hiding the source - the emails are from 'Kaptin Bluddflagg') and now there is finally a good one that I can share.

Begin speculation, I dont know what it is, there is no other info beyond 'Light da fuse' and 'And call da boys. Da kaptin iz here.'.

I'd wager a new Dawn of War addition in which you play as Orks in the single player campaign, but could be anything at this point. I'll update as I get more info.

Did anyone play that old Sid Miers game about Pirate's? I'd wager summat like that, only with Orks.

DoW2 orky campaign!

I have an inkling it's an ad campaign for "Space Marine". But that addon would be kinda cool.

I hatehatehate the pirate meme, but a DOW2 add-on with Orks front and center would be worth the headache.

That's not for Space Marine. First thing I did was look at the picture closely; his Shoota is totally at a "Dawn of War 2" level.

It has been 2 fridays in a row now, presumably more will be revealed next friday.

Naw, I'd wager its for Space Marine since it comes out next year. If you watch the trailer for that, the orks have very similar graphics to DOW2.

Orks were pirates before the Internet as we know it even existed.

In other news, I'm swooning over here. The new Dawn of War II expansion is called Dawn of War: Retribution from what I recall, and it's supposed to be the last ride of Gorgutz 'Ead 'Unta. Relic wouldn't let the MMO guys use him because they had plans for him in the next DoWII expansion.

I've heard of DoW2: Retribution. Is there any idea of what the new race will be?

I'll bet it's a Monkey Island/Ork crossover point and click adventure...

That or it's a buildup to a showcase some new info and screens on the 40K MMO. The textures look really close to those in the video IMO.

Could be a new sort of game, not an add-on to DoW 2 per say. Maybe a puzzler of sorts, or something equally light-hearted.

Freeboota! An epic Fighta Bomma Flight Sim with a mercenary component a la Wing Commander. Highlights will be the repair mode and kustomization. Both will be first person hack and fix where you must remove burning and malfunctioning components from your loyal krew of grots. At least, that's what it is in my wildest dreams.

I would be completely satisfied with another DoW2 campaign.

Ork Kart Racin' for DoW2

The plot thickens, I just had a box arrive from fedex with a large ork pirate flag - roughly 2x2.5 foot in size. Pic attached. Showed it to my wife who just laughed at the strangeness.

The box is from THQ in the US and lists the content as 'Promotional Flag'. There is no other info at all.

Awesomesauce. I love DOW 2. I would like that it would be part of it, but the heavy promotional items make me think otherwise.

I really think it's something for space marine. Isn't the game supposed to take place during an ork invasion of a forge owrld?

I kind of doubt it's for Space Marine I mean why would they be advertising an add on for a game that hasen't even come out yet? I woulden't be surprised if it's a seperate game I mean they made Fire Warrior for whatever that was worth and now Space Marine. Maybe they'll be making a game for each of the races.

I think it's going to be an expansion for DoW2. The promotional image in the first post has the Kommando Nob in the background.

That Ork flag is absolutely killer though. I want one.

Dude that doesn't even make sense - the image is a paintover, a digital illustration. There may be a basic render underneath there to get the lighting down and such, but the fact the image is quite clearly a 2D drawing done with a WACOM and therefore transcends any notion of detail level makes your point completely moot. Sorry but if you're gonna claim to have looked closely you pretty much missed the single most important factor - it's a concept image.

This excites me. I want to play a Pirate Orks game like there's no tomorrow.

I think they'll announce the game on September 19th- it would only be proppa to herald in a new age of piracy on Intergalactic Talk Like a Pirate Day!
