I love Science...

"Vogt and Butler ran some calculations, with giant fudge factors built in, and figured that as much as one out of five to 10 stars in the universe have planets that are Earth-sized and in the habitable zone. "

The whole thing is kind of moot since we can't get there. But maybe with some great leap in technology I can join in and be a conquering alien overlord before I die! YESSSsss!

I love the idea that we can find it. I love watching all those "The Universe" shows and looking at hubble telescope pics and trying to comprehend the vastness. But there's always that hankering annoyance that no matter how much we know WE CAN'T GET THERE! ARRRG so frustrating! I always wanted a primitive people to greet me as a god, and just as a joke, get them to build 5-sided pyramids and piling rocks in circles that spell out "ha! ha! silly primitives!" and leave for them to decipher millions of years later. Maybe toss in a couple of dinosaur bones in their geological layers just to throw them off track about evolution or something.

Retroactively applied infallability is its own reward. I wish I knew this years ago.

I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly.

With robotic parts to assist it in it's task of course.

Guess at least it is based on fact, observation and educated guesswork to fill in the gaps...

Or would you rather still be sitting in a cave being eaten by wild animals?

It was the Cave Men doing the eating!

Just ask a Woolly Mammoth. Oh wait...
