On a Trukk: Reinforced ram is the only necessary upgrade. RPJ is optional.

I run RPJs on all my BWs. The extra 6" gained over the course of the game is invaluable. I can't count the number of times that one inch has gotten me into close combat when I otherwise wouldn't have. Plus, more Deffrolla range = goodness.

A lot of people like Boarding Planks. I can see why, but I've never used them myself. Deffrolla your opponenet's vehicles. If you wreck it, get your Orks out and assault. If you fail, stay in your boxes and try again with the plank. Then assault the next turn.

Of course, you should always, always, always have a KFF Mek in your list. That is the one upgrade you absolutely must have in any list.

Couldnt agree more on this one. Its easily as important as the FOC

That's a motto of mine... KFF bring one with you.

The BW has been kind of a all or nothing vehicle for me, either the AV 14 front holds up to fire, or the enemy has gotten a lucky pen and rendered it useless.

In the emerging 5e world of AP 1 LANCES (3 armies so far, and you know Eldar are going to have them as well even if they stop handing them out to every army. Add in Rail guns, and you'll be looking at at least 5 armies that will lol stomp BW) the trend to keep wagons dirt cheap will only increase. 50% chance to pen, Immobilize on a 2, and destroy on a 3+

Yes but that still falls into to many targets to shoot. If you wagon rush, AND take 4 or more trukk mobs, AND take dirt cheap rokkit buggies, then youve got to many vehicles to be managed. A KFF or 2, and buggies granting cover saves and such, You just cant shoot down that many vehicles. And if I were going that route, those buggies would be in the front, stretched as much as possible while still trying to get that KFF save. I can afford to loose some 35pt buggies, specially if they get a shot or 2 off and damage something.

Personally Id run buggies in front. Buggies = X (buggies are in squadrons)
BW in the middle with some KFF goodness. BW=B
and the trukks in the rear for some nice ol counter charge/tie up units. Trukks = T

B B B

T T T T

Thats 16 vehicles, with at least 1 KFF in the middle to cover more then a couple of them. Your chances are good that youll make it to the front lines.( lol I swear that diagram looked better before I submitted it)

King, why is that Buggies haven't done anything for me but provide LOS?

They never do anything for me but... shake a vehicle, or maybe get a weapon destroyed.

I have however used them to kill some dudes.

But so far they're mobile cover at best.

I can tell ya they are AWESOME at killing a MC with a 3+ save and such. I can own a friggin Carnifex. Ive only used them a couple times against SM and that one really depends on the match and such. Sometimes they do good, other times they are just cheap cover.

My meta is mainly SM/MEQ and IG, the other is one other Ork player, Necrons, Tau, and Eldar.
