Often your opponent doesn't have any significant shooting and is coming to you anyway, so going second and deploying on the table allows you to set up just the way you want to handle his assault.
Even with rerolls and reduced scatter, some units will inevitably not arrive or will scatter out of position. Even if it's only one or two units that wind up where you don't want them, that's still more than the zero units that are out of position when you just deploy.

You only scatter a maximum of 6 inches. It's not that hard, in fact it's really easy. If you are playing on a table with a decent amount of terrain it should never be a problem. If there isn't much terrain you're going to get shot up anyways if you deploy on the table. Basically if you like to deploy on the table that's okay but it's a fallacy to say using the DoA rules is not good. The best example I can give are VV - it would be silly not to take advantage of their Heroic Intervention.

i dont like SG, i find them to just work out as worse termies, i played a dante nipplewing for a while to no avail, once i switched them out with assault squads it was amazing how much damage one can do.

One unit of Sanguinary Guard would be fine. E.g., they could go against Long Fangs.

Since this thread got resurrected, I'm curious, what kind of lists does do BA DoA lists have difficulty against, and what changes/tactics can one use to get around said difficulties?
