I know that Epic used to be popular at one point, it's how I was first exposed to it. But then I moved from where I was living and in the new place I moved to it was 40K, WFB, or Command Decision. Anything else was an aside at best. Oh well. If it ever comes back I'll be ... not ready, but still happy.

I've recently been recyling my shelf of shame and some old mini's that I didn't like the look of. Pics of progress so far.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Wow, thats ALOT of Epic parts. Those can be put to very very good use.

Major fails... How about a fully painted, tabletop quality Necron army? Built and painted the entire thing over 2 weeks, played about 5 games with them and they've been boxed up ever since. The Necron codex is useless in 5th edition. Just hope a new codex comes out soon for them so I can shake the dust off.
I also have a Dwarf army that I bought after getting caught up in the latest Fantasy hooplah. All of it is built, 10 of the warriors are painted up but no one at my flgs plays

The project may have failed Develain, but those are nice looking mini's. You got 2 interesting figures to show, even if you can't do anything with them

That's a success story for this thread. Always cool to see things recycled or finally put to use.

I'm not a Necron player but I've heard the same thing from other people. Can't say I'm a fan of Tournyhammer 40K. Recently started building 4th ed list for my Chaos at the recommendation of my friends.

Wow! Those are awesome! There's so much going on with each of those figs. Very well done.

A custom blitza da warboss with a deffgun in one shoulder and a rokkit on the other made from the plastic orc warboss. When I came home and opened the box I realized that the orc body was smaller than a normal ork! I told myself I could just greenstuff him and get on with it. as i greenstuffed him to be bigger I realized that all the other weapons i desinged for him didnt fit. He is now an ugly looking torso and legs >_>.
seriously though who the hell had the right Idea to make the orc warboss smaller than a black orc?!

You're not playing the game like I play it...why aren't you playing the game like I play it?! O_O |

I've managed to make Necrons work, not that I wouldn't love a new codex...

This would be too much like my own pitiful situation!!
Interestingly have just reckoned up the outstanding scale model kits which is shameful enough.
If I add to that the unfinished/unstarted minis projects including terrain .....
Then there are all the other things I want to do....
aaaargh!

LOL yes! That's hilarious.
I have a 2500 point CSM army and a 5000pt or so Eldar army. Got about 1500pts of the Eldar painted and after everything sitting around for a good half a year or so with me making very little conversion progress on them, I decided to have them painted by some commission painters. That's how I get my projects done.

O and the case on top of that contains a load of inquisitor models i built and primed and then found no one plays.

It's a miracle. I've actually gone back and finished this. *stares in shock* Somehow. The vision is a bit different to what I had in mind when I started, but so much better.

Another project rescued from the Shelf of Shame!
That is such an amazing model and it's awesome that you've pulled it back from the dead (ha!). Really looking forward to seeing the finished product. I'm not a big fan of DE but that model is just too cool to not check out. Thanks for sharing it.
Yes I posted the same thing on your thread. What I didn't post is that I am so going to -steal- borrow that idea for my WoC Lord. I've been neck deep in Death Guard for over a month and need a "distraction" project to help me re-focus. That well may be it.
Very cool idea. If I build one and post it I will definitely credit you as the inspiration.

Well the raiders may well get looted, although there are at least a couple unbuilt in that box which will probably be better candidates. The models are OK, but there was some classic figs in those orks, can't really say the same about any of the DE off the top of my head
As an extremely serious fan of the old raiders, please don't.
The only reason I didn't buy a boxfull of the old models as soon as I found out they were being replaced, was because I didn't have the cash. If I ever have the disposable income I'm going to hop on ebay and buy a whole army of old-school dark eldar vehicles.
Edit: ah almost forgot:
Picked up an armoured fist squad waay back in 2004. Then I totally forgot about 40k.
Here's how the chimera looked:
Then I tried to fix it:
It's currently bathing in brake fluid. Hopefully you'll see it in much better state by the end of this year. If anyone wants, I also finished the troopers.
EDIT: God dammit, just click on the pictures, I'm gonna have to find another image host.
