My space marines are known as Emperors Wrath, and my Dark Eldar are know as Kabal of the Nightwish. (DE are named after a band I like.)

I wanna go back to New Jersey

Tau army's sept name is Mi'Urm. Otherwise will go by the name "Uncompetitive unless someone needs some Hammerheads for an Apoc game"

Dark Eldar are the Kabal of the Gagged Maiden.

Chaos Marines are of the "Great Unseeing" legion. Called so on the account of having blood endlessly flow from their eye-sockets lest they were ones who embraced the fell powers.

Angels Requiem Space Marine Chapter 1st Company
I choose this name 1 because I've never seen it before and 2 it sounds cool and 3 the chapters members recieve a vision of their own death when inducted into the chapter. This gives them a grim manner like at a requiem.

Da Scrappa Waaagh of Warboss Imbad Ironskull
My Warboss (and name sake) attacked a forge world of the mechanichus. He didn't like it when he tried to repeatidly bash in a tech priests head but the priests bionics kept him alive. So he became obsessed with bioniks and is now a Cybork and his Waaagh is filled with boyz who are constantly scrapping vehicles and machines in order to have enough parts to "be like da boss"

The Great Company of Wolf Lord Hrothgar the Grim.
My Wolf Lord is based off of Hrothgar from the Beowulf saga, he and his entire company are cursed and so he has a greater number of Lone Wolves then most.

The Fire Storm Cadre
My Tau army is garrisoned on a volcanic world that is both a mining world and a Fio research station. My battlesuits and vehicles have cooling systems on their engines, my Fire Warriors have resperators and thermal visions goggles, kroot wear wraps like the desert bedouin etc.

The Blood Forged
My Chaos warband is led by a former Iron Hands captain who was possesed by a Daemon Virus which took controle of his mostly mechanical body. He infected those with enough bionics in his company and killed the rest, he attracts followers of Khorne who will sacrifice body parts to Khorne (blood for the Blood God) and have them replaced with bionics. The warband has alot of mechanical monstrosities, the captain became a Daemon Prince who fought his way to the daemonic forges and emerged a daemonic machine of death.

That's all I own at the moment.

My IG are the Vikaran 31st Skyborne more commonly called the Stormhawks. They are a company of highly trained infiltrator commandos specializing in lightning raids and demolitions. Their primary means of assault is fast-roping from Valkyrie carriers while the Vendetta gunships of the Skyknight Squadron fly CAP. Hailing from the mostly sky world of Vikar III. Their colors are grey and black with white and red squad markings.

My second IG are the Zardhan 10th heavy armored the "Steel Hounds". They are a siege armored company specializing in urban and line breaking combat. Their colors are. . . well not a single one of the 9 vehicles is painted so it's kinda up in the air right now.

My Loganwing inspired Terminator company are called the Iron Judges. They crusade through the galaxy bringing the Emperor's light to the lost and the Emperor's fire to the damned. They are heavily decked out with robes and their frost blades are all axes for the executioner thing. Their colors are "blue steel" with white for the robes and golden and mithril silver for the details and squad markings.

Finally I've got my all biker Ork kos called Dokta Zoomz Street Doks. Colors are red and black

Power-Hungry Cultist of Tzeentch

Chaos Marines- Guilliman's Scythes: Once a Successor Chapter of the Ultramarines, these Space Marines turned to Tzeentch, seeing that even Guilliman could not match Tzeentch's tactical prowess, and careful planning. They seek to master the art of strategy, to perfect battle into an art, to fight without losing a single one of their men. They follow a Daemon Prince, Ksarnath the Lost, also known under other titles, for he is a master tactician. They believe that strategy is god, planning, the Messiah.

Imperial Guard- 67 Catachan Regiment (The Marsh Wasps): A regiment that does not believe in tanks, but instead believes that massed firepower is the key to victory. They make especially heavy use of FRFSRF to achieve total domination. Their philosophy is that each Guardsman is like a wasp: not too dangerous by themselves, but when coming en masse, nothing is deadlier or more powerful. In addition, they do make use of ordinance, but only in dire situations.

Little Lord Fauntleroy:

Sure, why not?

On an unrelated note I think I'll change my CSM to the Love Crusaders, considering all the heart imagery they have. Their motto is "Credo Amor" which translates from latin into something like trust in/believe in love. They wander the galaxy spreading peace, love, and justice. Which really means sonic blasts and excruciating pain! It all fits the hypocrisy theme but when I'm not feeling grim-dark I can always go silly. Thats the great thing about slaaneshi themed armies, they can be incredibly dark and evil or you can beat your friends with pink, spikey marines!

"Order. Unity. Obedience. We taught the galaxy these things, and we shall do so again."
"They are not your worst nightmare; they are your every nightmare."
"Let the galaxy burn!"

...urrrr... I dunno

Hmmm... let's see...

Well, we have Waaagh! Gorskar, led by the warboss of the same name. It's spent the last five decades attempting to get to Armageddon and join in the fight there, but for some reason never manages to end up in the right place, due to a mixture of bad luck and worse navigation.

Then there's my Iron Warriors, Morenze's VII Company, whose battles have left them mauled and somewhat under strength. As a result, they've had to resort to hiring mercenaries to aid them in their feud with the Imperial Fists.

Finally, there's Fjälnir Ironfist's Great Company. I decided to make up a Wolf Lord rather than use the existing ones, as it would allow me to make my company somewhat more unique to me. In this case, Fjälnir controlled the Great Company that now belongs to Ergil Ironwolf.

Melissia wrote:Stopping power IS a deterrent. The bigger a hole you put in them the more deterred they are.

Army? Like, singular?

The actual names themselves are all in my signature, but for a quick rundown of what they mean / my inspiration:

O'Savon Hunter Cadre - the Hunter Cadre of Shas'O Vior'la Savon Kunas Mont'yr, my Tau commander. Pretty simple. Not a whole lot to it. The name itself does, however, mean "Keen-eyed, Agile, and Blooded." Given that O'Savon's tactics involve a lot of zipping around and shooting things (Mechatau build), it fits.

Strekaris IV Tomb World - my Necrons arise from a Tomb World in the Strekari system, the system from which my old Space Marine chapter and my Imperial Guard regiment hailed. Again, not much to it beyond a name.

Host of the Winds of Entropy - Honestly? I just thought it sounded cool. I am considering changing this one, because it doesn't flow off the tongue as nicely as I'd like, and the "entropy" bit kind of points to a Nurgle Daemon army, whereas this is a Tzeentch Daemon army. Kind of went the wrong way on that one.

Ventum Divinum Crusade - "Ventum Divinum" translate as "divine wind." No, it's not a fart joke. It's a reference (in Latin) to the Kamikaze (which also translates from Japanese as "Divine Wind") tactics to which my Black Templars crusade adheres.

Craftworld Darmok - Nothing to this one. It's a reference to "Darmok," and episode of Star Trek: TNG that happens to be one of my favorites. Couldn't think of a name for a Craftworld, and "Darmok" sounds sufficiently elfy, so there it is. Nothing special about this one.

Hive Fleet Apophis - Apophis, or Apep, was the Egyptian snake god of darkness and chaos - seems fitting for a Tyranid Hive Fleet. However, I do plan on playing up the "serpent" angle, using Raveners as my Warriors, lots of Trygons, et cetera.

The rest are pretty self-explanatory.

Chicago

IG - Siberon's Palace Guard Regiment. Basic Background - Part of Siberon's imperial tithe comes from their highly decorated Palace Guard.

Space Marines/Black Templar - The Court of Lord Antilles XI. An Imperial Fist Successor that takes a lot of inspiration (and rules) from the Black Templar. Their home planet is essentially in a quasi-medieval setting where each Initiate is a feudal lord. Lord Marshal Antilles XI is as much a title as a name, as it is bestowed up each new Chapter Master, who is taking up the name of the Chapter's first Chapter Master.

Dark Eldar - Mistress Čachtice's Sanguinary Corsairs (still mulling over this one). I don't remember what my old DE army name was...but the new one is going to be a Wych Cult

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

Grey Templars

Impierial Fists successor chapter

Specialization, Mobile Gunline/Close assault

Battle Cry "For the Emperor, Dorn, and Mankind"

Chapter is based on the moon of the 4th planet of the Centros(so called because it is deep in the galactic core) system. The moon, called Forlorn Hope, is a forbidding landscape of craggy rocks, sub-zero temperatures, and lakes of liquid nitrogen. The life that does live there is based on Nitrogen like other life is based on water. The Chapter was once space bound and the current Fortress Monastary is built over and on a Remalies Star Fort that was the Chapter's headquarters before they settled on Forlorn Hope.

Centros is a moderatly devolped world and is the center of government for the local sector of space. The Grey Templars do not recruit from Centros, as it's planetary enviroment is quite amiable to human life, but rather recruit from several nearby Deathworlds.

You've tapped into one of my favourite aspects of the hobby, Asimo. I may end up turning this post into a novel...

IG: 111th "Funky funky" regiment.
Given that a lot of swap painting (giving a friend a model of yours to paint, then tarding back the commpleted models) happened between me and two of my friends, my IG infantry has some pretty varied colour schemes, from red and orange, to disco multi colours, even modern jungle camo on one particular model. When combined with the constantly changing colour scheme of the tanks (from just black, to white, to drybrushed metal, to shadow grey with space wolf grey highlights), the name 111th Funky funky regiment seemed apt.

Chaosread Weavers Sounded cool. I also have proper fluff somewhere for them, i'll post it at some point. The general idea is that the Chapter split during the Horus heresy, leaving some loyal to Emprah, and others worshipping the chaos gods like there was no tommorrow. When chaos was driven back from Terra, the chaos Dread Weavers became scavengers, and stole tanks, transports, ships, weapons, anything they could from The Imperium. They also have a lot of sorcerors, who specialise in mind control, allowing the chaos forces to easily turn weak minds to their cause (I.e. I like allying them with IG)

Necrons: error 404Mainly due to the fact that they havn't won a game at my local club.

I did warn you...

Pretre: OOOOHHHHH snap. That's like driving away from hitting a pedestrian.
Pacific:First person to Photoshop a GW store into the streets of Kabul wins the thread.
Selym: "Be true to thyself, play Chaos" - Jesus, Daemon Prince of Cegorach.
