I've been playing Dark Eldar since before the hype came out about them, so I guess that makes me a long-term player

The guard army I'm collecting is called the Arkhangelsk 5th, from the arid, rocky planet of Arkhangelsk in the Halo stars. The army has separate male and female squads and leans towards airborne assault.
I chose Arkhangelsk as it's a cool name, this is the real towns 'emperor killing the demon' coat of arms:
My Ork Waaagh! is "Waaagh! Goldmaw"
And my BA strike force is "Breath of Hermes" Yes, I know its the one from the BA codex. Since I run 2nd company, (They have a captain who cares about other chapters (two 2nd company BA stand guard over the memorial of the astral knights, etc) and His own chapter) I thought they would name the strike force that out of honor and remembrances.
My BA and IG armies come from the same planet, Tarus, and are actually fighting the same war in the fluff I came up with them for them. My IG are the Tarus 7th Regiment "Dragoons". They get their name from the heavy mechanization their regiment has, but my army itself is made up of men from the 1st and 4th companies, as well as tanks from the 17th supporting tank divison.
Their BA counterparts are the Soulforged Angels chapter. Their name comes from their views of the Red Thrist and Black Rage (they see them as enlightened states rather than a curse). The army itself is made up of the survivors of the main assualt on their monestary.
I've got a WHFB Empire army that've been nicknamed "Thunderschlongs" or "Then men with the Golden Guns" (all the guns are brass) by the folks at my FLGS, but I call it Count Schwarzwald's personal army. The idea is that it's the personal army/defense force for a family of wealthy cooper merchants based out of Middenhiem.

And that is why you hear people yelling FOR THE EMPEROR rather than FOR LOGICAL AND QUANTIFIABLE BASED DECISIONS FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE MAJORITY!

My IG are called the Calvonian 501st Long range assualt recon (LRAR). They specialise in hit and run tactics behind enermy lines, preferably on desert worlds. there mission is to disrupt the bad guys whilst the rest of the IG forces holding the front line prepare to attack, they also do extensive recon of the area behind enermy lines.
My Black Templar crusade is called the Crucible Crusade, it is several small crusades lead by the high marhsall helbrecth, to save the cruciable sector from chaos invasion, the fluff behind it is that my friends black legion army is sent before the next black crusade to form a beach head inside imperial space, my templars are trying to stop them. we have built up a grude match between the leaders.
My tau sept is called the Fre'ma sept which aparantly means Sept of the green cystals.
(I made that up. I don't actully speak tau.)
the other day i had a major nerd moment and came up with a whole page of fluff which is hidden cleverly inside this spoiler tag so you dont have to look at it if you dont want to.
Caution: may contain nuts
Spoiler:
Fre’ma Sept History
During the second expansion, it came to the attention of the Ethereal council that the minerals used in the production of many of the battlesuit and vehicle systems used in the enforcement of the greater good, where running out. The stock piles of one critical mineral called Fre, or green crystal was beginning to expire. A rear super conductor, it was essential in the production of electronics and in particular, the infamous rail gun. It is named after the state it is found in, a green crystal. The crystal was naturally found on Tau also, but not in great quantity and as the war for the greater food progressed, almost all of the available green crystal has been used up. The Ethereal council announced that when a new habitable planet was found, it was to be scaned for traces of Fre so that the greater good my be obtained all the sooner.
Years passed uneventfully while the wars dragged on. Then a gem was discovered. A snowy world that had an irregular electro-magnetic field several times the strength of a normal planet that size. Scattered all over the planet were immense pillars of stone. At the heart of these pillars, supporting them was fre. The crystal was so powerful that it caused the electro-magnetic field to flux while giving it enormous strength. The creatures on the planet were strange to look at. Resonating with the power created by the crystals.
A colony was created consisting of members from all chases to build and harvest the Fre. The sept was named Fre’ma and was tasked to mine, refine and use the excess minerals to produce the vital battle suits and vehicles that would be the core forces of the greater good.
The Fre’ma sept was undefended however. The council of ethereals declared that the Fre’ma sept was to begin to produce a military force to protect and defend the vital deposit of Fre that the world was home too, as well as being the core force in searching for more of the vital substance if the need arose.
The uniform worn by the fire warriors of the Fre’ma sept I based white to blend into the snowbound terrain of there home planet. There sept markings are dark green, the colour of the great fre in its basic form. This is to reflect there origin and purpose, to protect the greater good through guarding the few deposits of fre available to the tau.
Despite the cold temperature of the planet, (about -2oC on average) there is a large amount of life, mostly in the form of vegetation found at the lower altitudes. This is mostly due to the intense light from the native star. The planet does not heat because of the coating of snow which reflects almost all heat back into space but the light is strong enough to heat and support the organisms that use it to survive.
Blood angels: Angels Reborn, Somewhat "crazy" chapter that plots campaigns where it loses mostly 70-80% of its troops (ie: boarding nid splinter fleets, necron tombs etc)

upcoming imperial gaurd: Vescnac 85th armoured "lone wolves": Vesncac is an tundra-like forgeworld
