Honestly its a rare occurrence from what I've seen. If you have made the effort to paint up your nids you wont have any problem from most people wanting a game.

That comes with time. If you have any friends into the hobby already that are experienced or you like their paint jobs/conversions they might be able to give you some pointers. Or try staff at your local gaming store if there is one. Try getting some second hand miniatures to practice on from ebay/discount retailers. You'd be surprised how easy a simple but decent tabletop quality paint scheme can be depending on techniques used. You going for a horde of bugs? Or medium/large ones?

I like fighting and playing hoard armies to be honest, it feels more like a real battle, and I love seeing hoards fall apart, just seems like an epic battle!

It does take a lot of time thou, and I do find myself getting somewhat annoyed when I am playing with a cocky/WAAC or noob player who is using such an army. The fact that it takes a long time to move isn't as much an issue in a friendly game with a somewhat experienced player.

As long as you don't start to measure every little inch in every single movement it's easy to move hordes...
So far i've never encountered a player who was painstakingly slow with his movement, be it horde or not.
It's a shame that i didn't have to fight any horde-army so far, it'd be lots of fun to play against an all infantry IG than the usual vets-vendetta-manticore-cheese !
Well, we'll see how the tournament circuit here reacts, when i lay down my "bucket-o-orks" next year, 90 Boyz and 6 Dethkoptas are built already, another 90 boys will follow soon *harrharr*

Well I believe since you just started playing they would be tolerant for about a year. After that some will be complete dicks and hate your army/move turns for the most part.
I wouldn't refuse since I like the challenge of a horde army!

I would take it on, finding it as something that would challenge me alot. But sadly I wont be there. Unless you meant Games Day, then I might depending on work.

After introducing myself I found an opponent and he wanted to have a small 1200pt game. So I quickly wrote up a footslogging boyz list and give it to my opponent to check. I was blown away when he then refused to play! I asked why thinking that my list was a firiendly list (no KFF or ghaz) And he simply replied that he couldnt be fethed waiting for me to move my 120plus models in the movement phase.

So long story short I rewrote my list into a BW spam list drew upon my dakka knowledge to make it rock hard and tabled him in 3 turns. But my question is do alot of players not like facing horde armies because of the time involed in moving them and rolling 800 million dice?

I always felt I was performing a community service by providing all the space marines with a fully painted horde of boyz to shoot at but it seems alot of folk dont like facing such armies.

Has any other horde players had this happen to them?
