Hey! I'm not dead or anything like that only that evil thing called life decided to kidnap in an entirely unrelated project. And now I'm free again (for as wee bit anyway).

Now with a wee friend and some high lighting, and some how I have started to think of this as rathar okey paint job, might be my that I'm don't like the sculpt that much, that shines trough for me :/


Odd little Dragon
This was an odd but lovely sculpt, I start to think I'm deranged or something...
It's a 15mm scale sculpt but quite big one for that (stands on a normal 25mm base).

My camera didn't like the vibrant colour choices I made, but I hope it's viewable anyway.

And here comes some updates.

Yesterday i finally received a big packet of paints (21 of sadly 22.. will get back to the supplier about that), but I have nothing to show related to that, since all of my painting today have been in 15mm scale and most people here doesn't seem so interested in that.

But I do have something to post

Well it have finally got at least a initial encounter with the brushes, I'm really quite happy with the head "shield", was quite a lot simpler and more effective than what I tried on some rippers (I guess I have them either in this thread or my gallery else give me a nudge and I will post a pic of them).

So what have passed / is on the work bench currently, well a lot but here are some of them:

From space marines we have:

An old time/style termie ... magical trowing guy


And a Imperial fist space marine i really just want'ed to paint that nice scheme so don't worry I wont turn loyal to the imperium


For my boss.. wife's Kroot/Tau killzone group there is now some support from fire warriors etc a snap at the basic colour scheme


And well I have started another killzone group, necrons, base coat example:


They will get quite a bit of aging/weathering also

Just to start of this is the loot i got from my run by at gothcon



For about 350sek (i guess about $57) i think its quite good catch, sadly I did not buy more of the old minis but meh lesson learned for next year. Most of the money went to the ruin...

Will put up a foto on one of the wolf/lion/monster things i painted up later.

But now of to yet another scratch build

Tonight I started sculpting on an demon thing well it's insprided by Eihort from the cthulhu mythos and well my inspiration comes from this fine picture (from arkham horror):

I have started on the main body sculpt, and it's currently not much to see but well why just talk and not show of anything?

Hmm.... I'm questioning leaving it lumpy like that. I think part of the 'oddness' of the pic is that the creature is almost completely smoothe except for the eyes and tendrils. Making it lumpy makes it a lot more organic and 'natural' to me.

Though you might want to look into old-fashioned acrylics, or semi-clear, seethrough paints when painting. Look up how Weta did the model painting for creatures in LoTR (movies) for a great way of making that translucent, veiny skin quality.

Very cool stuff in here! I might have to expand on some of your ideas for my spawn.

Anvildude: I interpreted some of the lines on his body as curves in it, yea mine is far more lumpy then the original, mostly since I found the shape the clay got after getting pressed onto the aluminum foil was quite interesting. But might try another on the side but using a styrofoam egg as a base.

As for the colours I think using inks (real ones not diluted) in the right concentrations might work for wains etc.

So I have experimented some with my eihort(s) and well it's moving forward but slowly, and nothing to really show (or do people wan't to see a styrofoam egg with some legs?) But there will be updates on that soon.

Also I converted up this little grot yesterday and painted him today quite happy with the outcome really.

A quick update:
First irl is really distributive any form of order currently, but in a happy way, recently my first child was born

On an another note; received some (metal) Genestealer Hybrids and Pink Horrors (long arm ones), still awaiting some old school termagants.

Ooh any I guess this will be a bit bad for my plans on painting all my bane thralls.
