Now that my Chaos sorcerer is finished, I decided to start a more general blog-thread.
So lets get started by posting some WIP shots of some of my current projects:
Very WIP Mega Nob (Mr Rullator):
My Zoanthrope:
The brain will be sculpted soon over the scales on the underside since they are where just for bulking out and well training for the top.
And for the Kroot (My wife's army but I built these for her):
Vulture:
And a "half" kroot hound:
And the scary part is that this is not all my current projects...

Today there was some work on the mega nob among other things and here is some pictures of it:
What I need to do now is create some kind of "power claw" for him and there are some designs I thought about:
And then there is the question should i scratch build it, and if so what kind? If not any ideas for a nice arm?
Also a last question, not that I now play with people that are that naggy on WYSWYG but is there any real issue with not going the grabby route?
And a little WIP bonus for today, mr nurgle sorcerer got a friend:

Have for fun also started converting a Khorn Berzerker head to a 1000 Sons head, mostly to see if this is a viable path.

Yggdrasil: Well besides the one converted zombie and the thousand sons, I'm making more (and quite frankly more interesting) zombies to be used as lesser demons. On of them, very WIP: Then there is that tiny attempt to at least paint up a chaos SOG (killzone). Not really scrach/conversion but an example of the WIP of one of the plague marines: Today have been some minor struggle with my camera, and it did not want to be friendly today. But it I have mostly worked on my 15mm figures... that will be interesting to try to take a picture of... And there was some toying around with how to build that arm for the mega nob.

Well got 8! and no rippers and one of them missed some of the armor plates but no biggie there

So now I semi tamed my camera into taking something that at least I can pretend shows some of the details Meet Mr Zoanthrope, still not having any arms but now got some brains: To be honest I have been working on the arms just some minutes ago but nah, nothing that interesting yet. Oh no mr evil looking mechanical arm dropped it (or maybe the zoanthrope just had a drink to much)! so you people could have some other views of it. And then there was some 15mm stuff These where quite hard to get any shots of at all, so sorry for the blurry images :/ I have also worked some on the mega nobz arm, nothing but pieces yet but it might work, what "tool" it will have is still unclear.

And there have been pictures taken!
Since I need to clean out some mold lines i missed on the arms and that I'm not quite sure about what pose to use I just used some "kludd" so I could get an Idea of how it would look
I know that the base is a bit to small since zoans really should have 40mm but I will just stick that one to one when I get my hands on them. From a former project I know that stopping to wait until one gets the bases is really a bad move.
So should I add "chimneys" to the back of it? And if so, try to imitate the normal elliptical ones or something more close to bended pipes ala aliens?
And lastly, a picture of last nights speed painting experiment (~30min):

Rose_Mountainz: thanks!
I selected the more alien-ish chimneys for http://www.coolminiornot.com/260609 is a good example of what I mean.
And here are a test fit of some chimneys I made today.
Any comments and/or suggestions on them?
And by the way any one who have a good idea for a brain colour when the them is shadow gray with orange shell? I have been thinking that maybe blue-violet tones might work quite well.

The mega nob got some love today (yea got up early for reasons not related). But I have started to work on an arm for the powa klaw. And some detailing around the weapon "arm"
Took some pictures of my nids i worked some on last night also
Will work some more on the orange... but I start to feel quite satisfied with the over all basic look.

_Tim?: Hmm yea maybe that could work, will test it on some other miniature later on (variations in oxide colour doesn't really sound that odd). And thanks, the kroot vulture will probably get at least one more friend to keep him company in killzone. Thinking about making a chainsaw wielding one
And straight on to the finished Mechanithrall:
I talked before about some doodling around with a khorn berzerker helmet for creating a Thousand Son helmet. So while I was taking some photos today I took one of it (nothing since I wrote about it has really happened to it :/ )
I also semi-finished my little swamp, not sure if I want a bit of static grass on it or not

A little bit of static grass around the edge and leading up to the swamp will give it a slightly more swampish kind of look

@Lorna: Yea will do that.
And for fun I built a centaur:ish thing that I plan to include as well something in my chaos army (sorry no photo yet), but it is based on a old WoC horse and an equally old beastmen (cheap plastic variant) and some guns from some chaos space marines. Will be some GS etc but it will probably be a quite quick "hack"/break.

iior, yea that was quite close, I even drybrush the edges in a similar way
How I do my scales
1. Macharius solar orange
2. dry highlight 3/4 iyarden dark sun, 1/4 macharius solar orange
3. dry highlight Iyarden darksun
4. Wash between scales baal red
5. Gloss Coat
The "soft parts" are just shadow grey then a tiny high light of ½ space wolf grey, ½ shadow grey...
Some other nids are given lighter and a bit glossy bluegrey (my venomtrophe for example).
I guess your "soft parts" are painted in Dark Angles green?

iior: oh, but I was close j/k
And some more updates.
Since I have been working a bit with my cryx wargroup I finally got to my slayer but hmm was not that happy with the default head and after some drilling and pinning I got this (pin mostly to be able to change the head easely if someone really really nags..., but I sort of think the teeth can count as the tusks!)
My fluff thinking is not that ordered and nice, but somehow something started to live inside the machine (a continues overdose of magic maybe?). And I sort of think of my little group as if it had been lying dormant for quite a while also, so yes there will be a bit of rust
Mr Centaur, was the crazy spawn of "I must do something not that important of how it will end", yea... we will see what becomes of him. I think with some homebaked rules he might fit in my chaos SOG for killzone:
