On topic though, there all about as good/bad as each other. But from an achieving their goal perspective, Black Legion fail.

A lot of the SM's are boring. but i dont include the primarchs, they are interesting because of their status.

As a general rule, the Remeberencer are more interesting and easier to relate to than the Astartes.

That being said the fact that the Rememberencer are more interesting doesn't mean the Astartes aren't interesting. For example, Loken and Garro also interact with the other Marines in very human ways. There's a scene where Loken and Torgaddon are coming back from a Lodge meeting (I think) and one of them runs off, jumps and hits a high beam on the ceiling and a bragging conversation about being able to hit high beam that are much higher up in another part of the ship ensues. This was a nice scene which goes a long way in showing the friendship of the two men.

Garro and Loken deals with joy, pride, hate, friendship, sadness, betrayal, regret and so much more.

But the Alpha Legion are way to busy trying to look cool and in control for any of that.
