You're right, her face looks kinda blurry in the photo - I wish I could show you how she looks "in person".

@ Rogan

Thanks a lot; but you're sort of cruel. You know there's just a tiny little fragment of a story behind it :-)

@ soncka:

Thank you. :-)

@ DrownedRat117:

Never mind - you'll see naked ones soon enough; I've got one or too planned.

Sorry, logged in with my boyfriend's account. xD

Thank you! I tried to warn you - hope you didn't get chewed out for that.

@ KingCracker:
Thanks! Did my best - I hope.
It's actually not that heavy, it's made from cork. Weighs about as much as the miniature itself :-)

Yes the title did suck me in out of shear curiosity (no pun intended). Your skin tone work is phenomenal

You do a nice job of depth shading on what minimal clothing the girls wear. I find nudie models tend to be a bit harder to paint because of the large areas of exposed skin, but you do a good job of it. Do you do any converting work, or just painting?

I actually like the third one of that group the best...

OT, these look great! I purposely pose my models with as little skin as possible so I have less to paint...

@ Trondheim:

No need to be ashamed. I guess everybody's got the right to be fond of their miniatures, as long as they do try to make the best of it. Thank you. :-)

@ BlueDagger:

Great ideas, and I do actually own the first two of them. Unfortunately, I've got a lot of other miniatures to paint - which'll take quite a while. But I hope you'll still watch this thread when the time has come. Thanks a lot ^^

@ Rogan:

Yuckie. :-D

@ JimSolo:

Skin, for me, is the easiest part of the miniature, simply because I draw a lot. But that's just my opinion and experience - others might think differently.
I actually converted this one a little, took off the root on which stands and replaced it by a column. And of course the display base, too. But since I'm rather inexperienced with metal and plastic work, I usually don't do conversions or ask my boyfriend to do it.

@ infinite_array:

Damn...! He discovered man's greatest secret and ruined my evil plot :-D
Thank you, friend :-)
There will more naked girls soon (behold this sentence's ambivalence!).

@ spyguyyoda:

Maybe I'll paint her one day... But before I do, I'll have to reduce her nipples' size... That comparison to Jovovich was cruel... you know, towards the miniature. ^^
It's not that hard to paint skin; the secret to water down your paint and apply many layers, with slowly increased dark/bright colour mixtures. You start off with 100%dark and then go up to 90% bright, in about 15 steps.
Just try it - and thanks for your kind words.

@ JustWeaver:

Thanks! That's exactly what I want to achieve - to give the eyes the strongest expression possible. :-)

Really impressive work. I don't paint as much as I used to (nor do I have the time to paint as much as I want to...) but your skills at shading and getting flesh-tones right, even for non-human colors, is amazing, and better than anything I managed when I painted nearly full-time.

One question, specifically about the blue elf on page 1... do you/did you, by chance, play any of Sony's Everquest games? Reason I ask is that the Dark Elf race from those games is blue skinned and white-haired, and just happen to be my favorite depiction of the "evil elf" trope. Regardless, that fig looks absolutely outstanding.

Your basework is incredible, too. I've never had the patience to put that much work and detail into my bases, but yours are definitely... inspiring.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Very nice work so many people paint female models and they look rugged and roughed up even tho we all know they should look delicate and sweet.

Very nice work you make them look female rather than just paint them if you know what I mean keep up the good work.

My secret fortress at the base of the volcano!

Your work is incredible! Both your painting and your bases are at a level I can only dream of one day reaching... and I've been doing this for fifteen years...

I applaud anybody who can paint large areas of exposed skin well. I have a few Hasslefree girls in my collection, and it takes months to work up the courage to try to paint them, due to how hard I find painting skin to be.

@ everyone I didn't respond to since my last post:
I'm very sorry. I keep forgetting to check my dakka account, especially since I don't paint an awful lot these days.
And of course thanks to everyone who liked my works!

@ Psienesis:
Nope, never player Everquest. I actually played very few games with dark elves so far; the blue was just an experiment and to make clear she's not a human being.

@ nemotgr:
Actually I didn't ever finish any piece in the 40k universe - but I'm working on it. I'll paint a Lelith Hesperax soon.

@ squidhills: I'll be damned if this isn't kindest compliment I've received so far. Thanks a lot!
And don't worry about the skin - the secret is to thin the paint and *then* get rid of some of the water on the brush. And of course you've got to make a lot of small steps rather than big ones. :-)

Well, now for something new:

This is Liela Mordollwen, in a little diorama I called "Red Snow". This my contribution to my boyfriend's FLGS's painting competition.

Cool! i love the blood. The only thing i recommend doing is making the long-bowmen look more realistic (less static( Obviously this noobs advice is now pointless but just my .02)) but otherwise its bloody (Pun-Awful) awesome.

That looks very nice...As much blood as it is, I think it's just shy of too much, and still within the realm of realism. Good job
