the story of the model is almost just as important as the level of painting. I think your models give a good bit of both. Have you thought of doing diaromas: they are all about the story!!

where do you find these models by the way, they are very cool models.

Hasslefree Miniatures! They are a great mini company and do make quite a few nekkid ladies in addition to their average minis.

I take the liberty to respond for SisterofChaos - I'm sure she won't mind - but if you do, Sister: feel free to punish me by teaching me more of your extremely interesting linguistics stuff. ^^

@ sageheart: Aye, it's Hasslefree Miniatures. One of the nicest miniatures companies around - they always include some sweets when I order something from them. And of course, most of their miniatures are of superior quality. I especially like their "Alyx", which will be one of my next miniatures... Sister hates her ^^

Der miniaturen sind sehr schon! (I know I suck at german, but I at least I tried xD )

But on a serious note: You really have talent for this!

One question though, how did you archieve the 'swampy' base? I've tried it a few times before but I've never been able to pull it off.

@ Katie van Vhoorl:

I can hardly give you any advice. The only one being that perhaps you should thin down your paints a little more. Getting rid of all visible gaps between the layers is very hard business... :-(
Actually I thought about adding another highlight to the hair, but I wanted it to look more natural and wasn't sure if it might look a little unnatural with said highlight.

@ Xenon:
Thanks - you bet I will! ^^
There's another lady I'm currently working at. Will take a few more days...

@ Sageheart:
Thanks for the comment!
You're perfectly right, it's about both these aspects. I'm currently working on single miniatures only, as I want to gather some more experience. After all, it's merely three months since I started painting. It'll take a lot of time until I'll be completely satisfied. ^^

@ whill4:
Thank you, I never get tired of hearing that :-D

@ The Kilted Samurai:

Thanks a lot! It's my favourite piece as well.
I don't think they're perfect... yet ^^

@ JOHIRA:
Arigatou! (Did I spell that correctly? ^^)

@ Lictor_Interdictor:
Who even cares about the other ones? :-D
Just kidding, Hasslefree is a great manufacturer. Especially their ladies are top notch miniatures.

@ nemissary:
Heck yes! That's the way to go ^^
Thank you!

@ vleermie:
Almost perfect :-D
I've seen Germans write worse German, so never mind and don't worry.
Thanks for the kind words; but talent isn't the right word. It's about experience - and as I mentioned before, my favourite hobby is drawing manga. :-)
Wasn't that hard to achieve.
I began with a few small chunks of green stuff (micro hills, if you will), added some sand to them (and the base, of course), followed by some static grass (after painting the base and the sand, that is) and added Vallejo Still Water.
My boyfriend will soon post a step by step tutorial. If you want, I'll send you a PM. :-)

Superb!

Your skin tones are beautifully done & the base work is excellent. For someone who has been painting for three months you have a natural talent.
I'm sure Kev & Sally at Hasslefree would love to see these you should send some pics.

Thanks for your comment and your kind words!
I already sent them some pics of Gayle, but it seems they didn't like her enough to put them into their gallery. Or they're just too busy ^^

@Sageheart

Thank you, but it is just a matter of practise - no reason to be ashamed!

@ChocolateGork
Thanks a lot ^^

After being absent for a long time I'd like to present you my very first commission, Reaper's Alastriel. My customer wanted to use her for the Pn'P RPG "The Dark Eye". She's supposed to be an elven mage and I took the liberty to incorporate some runes on the stones, each stone carries the nordic version of one of the spell's four magic words.
It was a bit of pain to paint her, because there were some horrible mould lines.
If you wanna do me a favour and vote for her, just click on the pic.

Let me know what you think about her.
C&C appreciated.

Her skin tones are incredible, and it's a very pretty model. I think, however, that you should have done something with her nails. They didn't need polish, per se, but even a natural look lighter than the fingers would have been good. Its a small quibble, but there's nothing else to complain about on this model.

Excellent work! I'll echo what others have said: You've done an amazing job with skin tones. It makes the minis look real.

Your eye for drawing has really helped you with minis. You've done a great job capturing how light would hit them.

Your work on the skin tones is amazing, especially on the dryad.

That aside, what is with the dragon fly? No one else dare ask I am sure. Just kinda looks... strange. Has a bit of girth to it. Did it come with the tree or did you have to sculpt it yourself? Either way, it seems excited to be there.

Hi folks!

This is my fifth painted miniature - and the first I ever painted from GW.
Also my first attempt of doing NMM, but unfortunately it didn't come out the way I wanted it to.
And I've never done such a large base before; it was quite an effort, but I like the result.

I wanted to create the look of a ruined ancient temple, perhaps being wrecked by the wood elves themselves. The elves were here before man and will be there long after him.

Her name, Cadha, is from Scottish origins and means "from the steep place", which fits it perfectly - at least to my mind.

If you want to do me a favor and rate my miniature(s), just click on the picture. :-)

If you're interested in buying this miniature, just shoot me a message. You'll also get a free self-drawn trading card.

Yeah, me too. What's the story behind it?
BTW, I gave you an 8. Would've been 7.5, because the paintjob isn't perfect, but... well, the base kinda make it awesome. ^^
