My least favorite so far has been the Devastator squad...perhaps I just have them ill-equipped though.

I have tried and tried with the Devastators. I like them until we play a Dawn of War mission, and then I realize their true weakness.

I love my pair of baals, with an assault cannon and heavy bolter sides, they unload a wall of lead.

I got a big 'ol set of Baals. I love my hefty pair of baals.

No but seriously though I really liked my nobz squad. I can't think of anything else in 40k that looks more individual from model to model right out of the box!
Plus they were real choppy. i'll miss those ladz
edit: ooops! orks aren't space marines!

I guess I would have to go for sanguinary guard. very batmanesque fake chest muscles
plus the masks look great

I have no idea why, but I'm very fond of techmarines. They're kind of like a "best of both worlds" sort of thing. They let you take more dreadnoughts, and can cause some serious damage on their own!

I don't play SMs, but I like the Land Raider Crusader. It packs a ton of dakka and lets you take more Terminators. What's not to like?

It took me a while to realize that the Hurricane Bolters were defensive weapons. Ram that thing 12" and still fire everything plus the optional storm bolter.

Damn, someone beat me to it. Though there are no Grey Knights in my future. Ever.

"I went into a hobby-shop to play m'self a game,
The 'ouse Guru 'e up an' sez "The Guard is weak and lame!"
The Chaos gits around the shelves they laughed and snickered in my face,
I outs into the street again an' grabbed my figure-case."
Oh it's "Angels this" an' "Space-wolves that", and "Guardsmen, go away!";
But it's "Thank you for the ordnance" when the Guard begins to play,
O it's "LOOK AT ALL THE ORDNANCE!" when the Guard begins to play.."

You can only fire defensive weapons when moving 6``

IIRC i am pretty sure you can move 12" since i think i read move crusing speed and fire all defensive weapons, crusing speed is full out, right?

Venerable Dreadnought. My lone Ven Dread has served me very well, destroying several ranks of Necron warriors, pummeling a Necron lord, and even once immobilized a Necron Monolith. Outfitted with a plasma cannon and he's death incarnate.

If we can go outside of the SM Vanilla Dex, then Bjorn, since he has improved BS to help with the Plasma cannon and AV13 means he aint being budged by a simple Powerfist.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
