Mine just flies around going DAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKADAKKA, and all the little guardsmen are turned into Salisbury Steak.

The whole HB/missiles setup just looks cool to imagine: zipping over your own army, dodging missiles, the Heavy Bolter constantly chattering, missiles slipping out like the dogs of war...

Although not the most useful, Dev's with all Heavy Bolters look Badass.

I've found they have good use in mopping up units that have been knocked out of their Rhinos, and reliably murdering stuff like Bloodletters Orks, and IG Infantry blobs.

i found out after using vanguard my 700 point unit died on the second turn! i never use them now but i love sternguard, 5 of them taking out a trygon in one turn, FULL OF PURE WIN!

Soooo killy. Last time I took my Marines out, Pedro and 10 Sternguard killed a Land Raider, killed the Terminators with chappy inside, then proceded to wipe out a Rhino, and the tactical squad that had gotten out of it.

Oh, and they're scoring.

i like Land Raiders but the only problem is the cost of them, the only place for them isin 2000 points, and then you would normally take one for the transport of terminators so thats 450 odd points for 6 modles

I also love my AOBR dread. But that is more sentimental. I do typically field the thing though, as an extra storm bolter and multi melta is always useful. I also love predators.

Love Assault/Vanegaurd Squads...too bad in this current edition they just are not all that affective. I dont see that changing in the next edition either. :(

Always make use of Sterngaurd but I dont feel better for doing so, they are just so affective.

Thunderfire cannons.

I can get all the other weaponry options expect the vindicator and whirlwind stuff elsewhere, pain to assemble but the pain they cause my foes is TOTALLY worth it.

i made my own one out of the sanuinary guard set, he's holeing the 2 handed axe in one hand (conversion) and the banner in the other. so totally awesome!

I have to go with Chaplains, they bring enough skulls and grimdark to make up for an entire company of Pretty Marines!

Good question. It's hard for me to make up my mind, because there are so many I'm a huge fan of. I suppose I'd have to say the humble Drop Pod. It doesn't kill much on it's own, but without it, all those Iron Clad Dreads and Sternguard packed to the teeth Combi weapons wouldn't be nearly as efficient.
