Add Tartarus and Bane Knights and you are at 35pts.

After practice you might consider dropping a bonejack, but Denny needs arc nodes.
Keeping with the BB contents instead of the extra Defiler, take 2 Deathrippers.
You can use a point for a Necrotech, or some scrap thralls.

Scrappies are nice, because your opponent HAS to deal with them. Otherwise they will stagger up and give hugs.
Just keep them clear of your own stuff.
That one point will absorb most likely 3 shooting attacks, which won't be coming at your other stuff.

I think the lists are the same

Idea is good though, take that list and maybe drop the deathripper to add tartarus. The list loses a node, but denny can get by with 2. (I do not completely agree with skrulnik on this one )

when going up to 35 add the bonejack and whatever else you like. the basis for the army is in the 25 points.. (I would really like the numbers the mechthralls offer me and maybe the extra bonejack, although warwitch and necrosurgeon are also very good options...

Oh, I believe she can get by with 2 arc nodes. But he's a new player.
He's gonna end up with them dead or engaged early, and need to have that extra one.

Tartarus has a huge target on his head, especially after you Thresher and gain a handfull of Banes.

Did I forget to mention the Warwitch Siren? That was silly.
Best 2 points you can spend after the Skarlock.

Warwitch Deneghra 5
Slayer 6
Deathripper 4
Deathripper 4
Bane Thralls (Leader and 5) 5
Bane Thrall Officer & Standard Bearer 3
Bane Lord Tartarus 4

This is 21 what to add?

I'd suggest at least one more arcnode (Denny really likes arcnodes), a Warwitch Siren (or two), Gorman and maybe WSC. And a Skarlock of course. Siren(s) will allow arcnodes run for free, Skarlock = free Ghost Walk. Both will allow you to easily get your nodes deep within enemy lines where Denny's spells will be most effective.

Looks of a unit mean diddly in Warmachine.
If the rules are good enough, you use them.
Cephalyx are bad-ass models, but the rules suck, so you don't see them.

So I came up with this...

Warwitch Deneghra 5
Slayer 6
Deathripper 4
Deathripper 4
Bane Thralls (Leader and 5) 5
Bane Lord Tartarus 4
Bane Thrall Officer & Standard Bearer 3
Skarlock 2
Warwitch Siren 2

sounds like a descent plan. All the models will be usefull in a variety of lists, so no senseless money spend, and they will form a nice core list.

Only thing to worry about in that list is that the skarlock and kjacks do not have stealth, so all of the opponents shooting will go into them.

What would you suggest>

Or is that something you can't prevent?

can't really prevent that. Only way to do that is take only stealthy stuff, but then you have no arcnodes. I would say use terrain to your advantage. It is why denny has ghostwalk.

run the list against a variety of opponents and see how it runs. It is really the best way to learn to use the army and mitigate any problems.

People will shoot at your jacks, there's nothing you can do. Just give them something else to worry about instead.

Or you can jam them and/or engage the ranged elements so they can't shoot until they deal with that.

But:
Just give them something else to worry about instead.

Is the best bet IMO...saturate the field with threats so it keeps them guessing and gives you multiple options to work with in terms of winning/killing.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

You just gotta get games in.

There are so many in-game options in this game that net-listing accomplishes little.

Once you have options in the list to deal with what you expect to see, throw it on the table and see how it works.

I do think you will like another bonejack more than Tartarus at that level.
Run the Defiler as a nightwretch if you have the cards, or drop the BT UA to allow the Defiler and take a 2nd Siren?

Yes, essentially if you can keep on the pressure and make sure your opponent is the one that has to make the traditional "damned if you do, damned if you don't" decisions. However, coming from other games I'm sure you're familiar with the concept.

I played WH, and with my two list it was spam threats.

I guess I was figuring how do that with Cryx.

Fair enough, in Warmachine there are a lot of units that can downright end you and are more even on the threat level I suppose. Obviously things like the Death Jack stand out, but it shouldn't be too hard to spam threats in Cryx. Also you're really fast...so...yeah.

Cryx spam list. There is one I think fills the bill pretty cheap

all you need is whatever you want plus these 19 points:

3X 10 mechanithralls
2X Necrosurgeon

This gives you 3 units that can regenerate up to 6 bodies (total) every turn. necrosurgeons are funny that way

with the right additions they also become a real problem for the opponent as they can run 12 inch to engage something and have the number to get through some shooting. Add a caster like terminus and they even get though.

For some more fun also add a couple of brutethralls. They are big targets for the opponents, but they look cool and the unit of 10 thralls and 3 brutes looks very mean on the table...

To the list you can also add a couple scrappies for explosive fun and 3 or 4 bonejacks to round out the list. Most caster can work to some extend with that IMHO

You can even try pGaspy's theme list and have all those McThralls advance deploy...just for kicks...

Played a game today with the battle box today.

Learned some things, also tried different set ups with the nodes and what not.

So far I really like, weakening and charging.

Also I won, but it was a fair game and got intense towards the end.
