Another long time between posts I actually took a nice vacation so was traveling. Right before I left I built out some Nobs. I really only had Megas, so I wanted to complete a squad that could hit without klaws, plus I love the models.

I originally grabbed a second box to make some Flashgitz, but I just said to heck with it since I have a lot of firepower and just wanted more Nobz.

I also really wanted another incarnation of the warboss. One with a big choppa. I built him a huge shoota, that now there's a new codex, will count as the Big Shiny Shoota.

So, here they are built out, primed, and dark-washed.

Here they are, sorry for the blur. I got a new camera and I am not savvy on it yet:

Very characterful orks. I really like the spiky choppa. It's the tool for the Ork who just doesn't know if he wants to smash or hack his opponent....or both.

I have one nob that I did a year or so ago. He really needs to be updated I think. The tones are all wrong compared to the way I paint now, and he looks a little off. Comparison shot:





So I will probably have to repaint him.


Next, warboss WIP:

Next, I am working on some Cyboars for a little Counts-As-Warbikes mob. Too bad there's no new Cyboar rules in the new codex.

The orks are looking great, actually I like them dark, its a nice contrast against your paint scheme.

I love the boars, got some myself. Going to have to work on them soon. The one on mini tracks, looks brilliant.

Ah, update time. I've been a little heavy in the Space Marines lately, yellow marines take forever though and I got an orky bug and bashed out a little more work. I mean don't get me wrong, I love my marines, but there's just something that ignites in the blood, that electricity that sparks when painting or building orks. Everyone should have at least a small warband. It'll make everyone more calm as gamers too, you can't help but laugh when your own vehicles spike themselves or whatnot.

First, the Nobs are coming along, should hopefully finish them over the long weekend. I am still getting them to base coat stage, but I have the attention span of a gnat and moved on to some other things, which will follow:





Got the first coat of the yellow face paint. These guys are mstly going to follow the core Gorgrimm warband paint of yellow/black to prove to the warboss how loyal they are, well at least until one of them gets big enough to challenge him, .

Now, for christmas, I got one of the Deffdread double packs. Now Gargantog has friends that aren't just weedy grot kans!

And then, I've had this Dewback sitting around for a long time. Sitting in my office one day and eyed it. Then, I eyed my stock battlewagon that sits on the shelf unbuilt. So in the interest of never completing anything, I decided to see what type of cool Squiggoth I can come up. I am pretty excited about getting a howdah on him and plan on covering most of him with armor plates.






The front of the battlewagon makes a fantastic helmet for him:









So that's going to be fun.

Been a crazy summer and fall at work. I am starting at a new job in a few weeks which will hopefully give me less overtime. I plan on keeping up with the armies and trying to post every week.

I'm looking at using plastic card to build out the Howdah and armor plates all over. Probably use the rest of the battle wagon too as a foundation.

I just love the holidays, Happy New Year Dakka!

Spent the afternoon futzing around with my squiggoth attempt. I am getting happy with the way he's coming out. I think I'll give him the working title of "Spike" since he's like a pet.

So far, building out the howdah, working on armor plates, a tail maul or whatever., and his helmet got some tusks. Not sure if I want to incorporate the cannon from the battlewagon or not yet. I would put it up higher on the Howdah though.

So here is the progress so far:

So there it is. Got a bit of work to do. There's still all the tail, the legs, feet, neck, and helmet to finish, plus the howdah needs walls, etc. But I like him and can't wait to be done.

Made a bit more progress on the Nobs, still rough. Trying to keep the updates going so it isn't three to six weeks between.













On a nostalgic note. I found this in a box in the shed. My very first Battlewagon from third edition. Terrible painting, now covered in cobwebs and dust. I might do something with it as I like the base model.
