I like Necrons as they are right now. I would like them to conserve the things that make them unique:
WBB, all-ignoring warscythes, resilient and teleporting Monoliths... They need a fix and more units, but I think they would loose their spirit if they get
FNP instead of
WBB, etc. :(
EDIT: just remembered. Some of you talk about putting away C'Tan, but you say what would replace it? I have an idea: Tomb Stalker. Tyranids got the Trygon which was (I THINK) an Apocalypse unit. That would give Necrons a new big guy ^^
And another thing: they would need more ranged weapons (more range to the actual ones, or brand new weapons). Somtimes they get outranged while under fire.

It really defines Necrons; I would like it to be "better" somehow to FNP, because when it was designed, there weren't so many FNP units as now (even those fragile Dark Eldar can get it). It should be something like... a combination of both: you can save wounds as FNP AND autorepair as classic WBB (in the background, Necrons are described as very resilient, because they can regen normal wounds which didn't "kill" them, without even falling to the floor).
This may sound complex and even overpowered, but Necrons always have been defined by resilience and autorrepairing. If they loose that, they'll loose part of their spirit...
So...you want them to be T4, 3+ save, with a 4+
FnP, that if they fail they get ANOTHER 4+ to get back up at the start of the turn followed by ANOTHER attempt should the squad get sucked through a Monolith (presuming the 'Lith remains unchanged)? If so, the odds of killing a Necron warrior with any gun bar S8-10 AP1-2 just dropped to....0.33 x 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 = 0.04%. Yeah. I see that happening....
Straight swap.
WBB --->
FnP. Easy to understand, does exactly the same thing, and still not to be sniffed at on a T4 3+ model.

You're right, I knew that would be
OP. The difference is that if you don't "kill" a Necron because of
FNP, you can shoot it again in the same turn as it's standing still. If this happens with
WBB, you'll have to wait for your next turn to try again, while the Necron you've just "killed" revives, moves and attacks you again. This gives them a unique advantage over
FNP units. What's more, personally, I think
WBB isn't that complicated. Just lie down the models or put them appart; on your next turn, throw dices and put them again on their place. Very simple.
Of course, we can always call "autorepair" to
FNP in their case and stay fluffy ^^
