Yeah my fave was the stegasaurus, or any dinobot! but that goes without saying if you were old enough to watch the show! don't know why the stegasaurus was my fave but there was something about the big angry guy I liked, also recently my sister had a daughter and named her Bronte, sooo the first thing I did was give her the nickname 'Brontesaurus' i know i'm witty AND pithy!

They've got the original Transformer's cartoon on the Hub and I'm watching it with my boy. They came to the first Dinobots episode and my boy thought he'd died and gone to heaven. Dinosaur Transformers.

1) Dinosaurs are awesome! Especially the big ones.
2) Pterodactyl are not dinosaurs.
3) It looks like the Triceratops wasn't actually a real dinosaur. It's still a bit of a debate, but it looks like what we were calling a Triceratops is actually just a baby Torosaurus.
4) Dinosaurs never went extinct. They still exist today, but they're covered in so many feathers, we often times don't recognize them as dinosaurs. Here are some examples of modern dinosaurs:

I love how they show the Constructicons being built on earth, but in a later episode it shows them in a flashback Megatron has of them on Cybertron (and again in a different flashback, explaining them in a different way) Yay continuity!

I never really outgrew my love of dinosaurs. I doubt I could narrow down a favorite, except for maybe Triceratops (which of course might not really exist.) I always felt that diplodicus was cool, although it was just the longest really confirmed sauropod when I was a kid.

It came out in the 80's (at least that is when I read it). Some boy was supposed to ride a train through the park but somehow he was lost wandering through the park and being chased by t-rex. Anyone read it when they were a kid or remember the name of it?
I had that! There were actually two, I think. At one point he sees two marine reptiles fighting, and in one of the books the big bad is Allosaurus, not Tyranosauras.

I believe this book was about mutated utahraptors that had somehow survived the mass extinction 65 million years ago and were living in an abandoned mine. . . . . fantastic.
Ahh I remember this book! There was one about giant mutated rats and Giant mutated Bats. This guy sure had a lack of originality....
My favourite Dinosaur is stiil alive today! He is proof that God and UFO's exist!!!! (Warning spoiler contains a couple of scientific journal entries and charts)

Actually, it''s the other way around. Torosaurus was determined to be an older Triceratops, the frill apparently kept growing with age. So Torosaurus was axed, and Triceratops lives!

Also after pluto there is no way they could kill the triceratops as well, children would rebel if that happened

Considering the fact that a Velociraptor was only about 2 feet high I would say that you're method of suppressing the masses would do little other than drive the Velociraptor's to extinction once more as they were crushed by the donut eating Mounties.
Also a great childrens book...
You Crichton!!! you messed up a whole generation of Dino fans. Now that thats out of my system, the Velociraptors in Jurassic Park are actually Deinonychus a much larger, much cooller dino.

How ever I think my paleontology professor just hated that movie Who remembers this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dino-Riders!
Deinonychus is my favorite too.
I'd of loved to have one as a kid. I would ride it to school, feed it my homework, had it maul a few of my teachers, it would of been so great.
Now adays I'd just ride it to the Starbucks and hope it dosen't eat anyone or throw my if it decides to jump a horse.

Cant beat that. Was he in the Dinobots btw?
Stegasaurus didn't have a brain the size of a melon it was more like a really big walnut, however it also had one it's butt...so...yeah
Oh yeah, if you like Stegasaurus, then you should check out Kentrosaurus, it's half Stegasaurus, half spikey death machine, it's like the Stegasaurus version of Chaos Marine...Chaosasaurus... ...great, now I'm gonna have to build that...
There was a Stegasaurus Dinobot, I think his name was Snarl, I'd have to check.

How did Crichton mess up a generation of dino fans?
Deinonychus is still too small for the JP raptors. A lot of people call them Utahraptors but they're not big enough to be Utah's. Off the top of my head I can't think of an actual dromeosaur species that fits the JP raptors. Well, assuming those were full grown. I suppose you could call them juvenile Utahraptors.
Oh, and Torosaurus > Triceratops.

Oh, and Torosaurus > Triceratops.
It would appear I missed a memo at some point involving my favorite Dino, 'cause back in my day they were 5 feet tall not 3...of course, back in my day it was pronounced DIE-no-NIKE-us not dy-NON-i-kas...so...yeah...that changed...

Actually, that was the first place I went when Tyyr pointed out Deinonychus' size.
I really would like to know when they got the size change 'cause every book I have have says things like around 5ft tall, almost 5ft tall, barely 5ft tall, ect. and all the pics I have dipict them as easyly being 5 or 6 feet tall.
So if anyone knows when Deinonychus got shrunk let me know, thanks.
