10'000 years ago, Terra was under siege. The Sons of Rogal Dorn stood firm at the gate, never letting an inch slip away so long as we drew breath. We were killed in droves defending the Emperor and his Imperium, and we killed many in turn. We defended the Emperor and his Imperium, and this is what it means to be a Fist

Well Don't buy the codex it will be the biggest mistake ever. Instead we are all going to make our own here on dakka. Of course. I won't write it.

I haven't played 40k since the end of 3rd edition...
And now I'm sitting here with the codex, four boxes of PA Grey Knights, three boxes of Grey Knight Termis, and a Dreadknight...
Darn it, I thought I'd escaped.

I too am bailing from the GK wagon. I loved Daemonhunters even if it wasn't competitive. But this GK book eviscerates the previous fluff, and the rules may very be worse than SWs.
Maybe I'll just focus on my Orks. Or play Eldar as second army, or something...

The only thing that interests me with this release is the character conversion potential of the plastics for regular marine armies. Yesterday using just a single PA GK box, a bike and a few bits from my bits box I was able to build 4 really nice ( IMO atleast) all plastic characters; a Librarian, Pedro Kantor and two versions of Kor'sarro Khan (one with bike one without). I might also have a go at making either Sicarius, Vulkan He'stan or a generic captain/chapter master today using a few more bits.
I might pick up a termi boxset in the future and do the same thing but I'm not sure I need that many character models.

I was actually considering it until I saw that they completely rewrote and butchered their fluff. I choose my armies due to their background as well as their looks. Hell, I'm worried that if Ward touches Necrons, I will just throw them in the middle of a busy Chicago road, like Polaski or something.
I will say, I have a friend who is determined to do a Space Ape army.

I am fascinated by the Henchmen side of things as I have tons of IG, space marines and various Assassins, Inquisitors and Karamazov.

At first I thought I wouldn´t jump the band wagon, as everyone says they are overpowerd and so on. But then I thought, I love the army and always have, but never got one because of the lack of plastic models, so why now shy away, just because the internet ridicules them + Mordrak has awesome fluff imho

For me, it completely depends on what's in the next Sisters/Witch Hunters book when it comes out. I started Witch Hunters because I wanted to do Sisters and weird Inquisition/Ecclesiastic stuff. Hopefully, I still can when the new book comes out. If not, I'll probably grab Cortez and some Grey Knights so I can keep using my oddball henchmen.

I might eventually. Mostly because it'd take so little work.

Yeah being able to build an army for the fraction of the cost of other's is a nice feature too.

I ended up ordering various GK bits. I really like the helmet design and the bits were not so outrageous as bits such as Cyclones or Apoth arms.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby. |
