No, I don't think so. At minimum i'm waiting till it stops being "cool"...and I have some more money from buying a tyranid army.

Still terrified of what i'm going to see from GKs on the board. Oh well. CHARGE!

I've been waiting on a new book for a long time, and have tried to fit GKs in as many games as I could in the meantime. I am thrilled they are getting an updated codex.

So yes, I am 'hopping on the bandwagon' even though I really did when I started playing.

the sad thing is, Landraiders arn't the problem they were before for GKs.

Or S7 RENDING psycannon; assault cannon were already better than lascannon at taking out land raiders, now GK get to do it but slightly better

If so, am on the wagon.

I am planning on doing pretty much this. Terminator troops, Dreadknights, Terminator HQ, and Terminator elites. I am however planning on a purgation squad for heavy support.

I've just always liked the idea of the Deathwing, even if I never really liked Dark Angels. I was planning on running a Wolfwing list, but with this new codex, I'm not sure which one I'd enjoy more. Of course, I could just make both the lists and find some way of running a group that counts as either one...I dunno. But I am going to pick up a couple of the models (the Titansword guy comes to mind) just because they look awesome.

How do I roll?

the nice thing is, GKs can run all terminators without a special character.

DA need Belial, SW need Logan.

not that thats a big deal, but being able to do it without a named character is kinda nice. especially if you hit a tournament that disallows special characters.

Over the hills and far away, or am right behind you?

I fancied the idea of banishing deamons here and there with the elite force with halberds then I found the price of them, deciding that the chaos gods played a funny trick on all that followed the GK as they target the wallet not the soldiers.

So I'm going to side with the gods of the warp as they rule my beloved and sacred wallet.

They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself - Mal.

Also, IIRC, GKTs have Frag Grenades, which edges out the other two somewhat if you're an aggressive player not using Crusaders.

Just looked at the plastic kits. Not as big as the Space wolves, but eh what the hell might as well get the Grey Knights to make my Custodes force.

Well they are cool, but im gonna say they are about 7th on my list of army's to collect (and im really only aiming at about 5-6 army's). I know their popularity is going to act as a plague and sweep battlefields and newbs everywhere, so I will see plenty of them w/o owning any.

4250 points of Blood Angels goodness, sweet and silky W12-L6-D4
1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress

675 points of Commoraghs finest!

Well thats why I have set up my own shop in my basement so me and my buds can play against eachother I know your pain. Except I have 11 armies.... 1450 Dark Angels, 2500 Space Wolves, 14k Storm Crusaders, 35 Terminators of Blood Angels, Grey Knights (1500 pts already from 3rd ed.), 850 Tau, 740 Guard, 250pts of Daemons, 90pts of Sisters of Battle, 2105 Eldar, and 500 points of unassembled Black reach Orks.

I am, I own about 4k points worth of GK already and pre-ordered one of everything new. I used to play them all the time but when the Space Wolves, and Blood Angels, and DE came out I started getting whipped horribly. I used most of my old storm troopers and guardsmen to make a power blob army.

I'm probably just going to play GK for fun and stick to guard to be competitive (though I'm probably the most uncompetitive person here).

My planned army is going to have three Dreadknights. Then it's just going to be Draigo and terminators.

The posture is odd. I have no idea why GW decided that the Termies should spread their legs far enough to cover a 40mm base.
Sure, some older miniatures have the same problem, but i hoped that GW would chose a more natural pose for the GK Termies.
Of course, if i would have liked the current codex a bunch of legs wouldn't have been much of a deterrant

the poses don't seem any wider then they were before or when compared to vanilla terminators.

I love all the options in the codex. I own a lot of Marine stuff in boxes and this could be a codex I could get into. Lots of conversions and custom paint scheme: can't bring myself to paint a silver army.

The Inquisition stuff looks to be fun for the hobbyist. There's a lot of things I can create from it and won't be bored to tears of painting Space Marines.

All in all, it's looking to be a very flexible codex with a lot of different builds that will keep a person interested in the book for quite some time (unless 6th edition swings a huge nerf bat at it).

Not sure if I'm all in, but I'm very interested at the moment.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Painting silver is a pain in the ass. I am thinking of actually painting them grey.

I agree the Inquisitor stuff is fun. Lots of variety and you can custom build a lot of different options for the henchmen.

@bitzaddict: a heavy drybrush of boltgun metal gives a nice silver color.

look at the dreadnought in my Gallery for an example.

The new codex has some amazing rules. It's not cheesed out either like so many people are complaining about. Granted they are a powerful army but for the amount of points you sink into a single unit or character, for example a Grand Master is 175 without upgrades, it balances out.

Anyone else think the same/different?
