This is childish: Lazarus just move on, it happen in the past and everyone changes. Your destorying a postive event with negative comments . I understand that you dont like playing against him or anything us. What doesn't make sense is that you are tanking a GT in the south. If you want, why don't you put the work in and sponser a GT.

No, childish is how Mr. Turner has acted throughout numerous threads and boards. Yes, people do change, but from recent observations, it does not appear that Steve has changed much at all. My intention is not to destroy a posistive event at all. If he is really as simply wonderfull as you think he is, then by all means, go have some fun. I almost attended Bolter Beach. I had a ticket to go and at the last minute my sanity check made me realize, that I was setting myself up for a real bad time. Of course, it didn't help just finish testing the "MSU spam" win tournament missions at the event we were qualifying in. some of the worst crap I've seen.
As to changing beahviour: He's been declared a cheat in the past and people still accuse him of it now. He's been declared a douchebag in the past and he still acts that way now. He's been declared a liar in the past, and he still does so now. Add hypocrite to the list.

Steve was part of the "crowd" at another LGS that decided to be our "rival" among all other LGS locations (we had no problems with other stores). Steve was one of the reasons I stopped going to that store to participate in events. I won 3 of 4 events there (taking second only to my own club member the other time) and we'd practially get hate mail from that. It was such a toxic environment that it simply wasn't worth it anymore. Oddly enough, Steve was latter banned from that store and now the store in question is closed. No one wants to say WHY he was banned and that it allegedly wasn't for cheating. What was it for? How many stores have you been banned from? I've never been banned either. It usually takes a special kind of person to earn that honor doesn't it? How many forumes have you been banned from? Zero for me also.

or anything us.

I don't even know you (do I?) so I have no ill will towards you. I will pretty much play anybody at least once (and then fun people after that).

What doesn't make sense is that you are tanking a GT in the south.

No, all of my comments are directed at Mr. Turner specifically and having nothing at all to do with the GT itself. I speak of his character (or lack thereof) and my personal interactions with him as well as what I have witnessed in the past. I think these are valid points and obviously, I'm not alone in my observations. There are two names I can drop in a game store (practically anywhere) and get immediate groans from bystanders. One of them is Steve and the other is Marco. I'm sure Charles Manson might be able to run a good event, but I'm sure his character would still be called into question wouldn't it?

If I wasn't soo tired (and lazy), I could post links to dozens of threads where this guy is a total 100% douchebag. I only posted the two I did as it took minimal searching on a local forum but there are many others that are covering those same subjects.

If you want, why don't you put the work in and sponser a GT

Here is my problem. I've got the cash to do stuff like that but barely the time when I work 60 hour weeks and can only (maybe) free up a Saturday to do my gaming. I'm not saying that there isn't alot of hard work to put something together either. I've looked into the terrain & space (which is the easy part), but the hard part is surrounding yourself with the right people. It's the people who make the event and how they handle the problems and logistics of it all.

Myabe I will back something like that.....who knows. At the very least, it will only be by high profile, respected memebers of the community if I'm going to sink that sort of money into the event. After speaking at length to some of the Necro guys, I certainly wouldn't be doing it for any sort of monetary gain. break even or loss is what I expect.

Good luck. (not trying to ruin your event)

Here is the person running BeakyCon. AKA Steve Turner.

http://www.fantasybattles.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1893

Since he is in charge of the event and is the only person (besides "thehod" briefly talking about it and coming to his aid) advertising for it on every single webiste its mentioned. Just do a google search. So I wouldn't be surprised if he is "Veteran Sergeant Beaky" as well as some other accounts.

Which makes all the above posts hilarious as he is defending himself, pretending to be other people.

As for Bolter Beach, I heard the shenanigans were 100% the fault of the person were all talking about here, and is now no longer involved with the tournament. So I may go this year.

I can personally attest to his cheating. I played him at a tournament in Tampa (not going to mention the store, luckily haven't seen him back) and he did pretty much everything that is listed in my above link.

Alright, folks, time to hit the brakes on this thread. A few things:

1. I am a Tampa player, and played in Bolter Beach (both times).

2. Mrblacksunshine_1978 is NOT Steve Turner. I have met this player, and he is definitely not the same person.

3. As Steve's accounts (that we know of) have been suspended from this board, we do not allow ongoing criticisms in a place where he can not defend himself. Relating reservations is fine, but once the message has been conveyed it's time to stop.

4. This thread needs to go back on-topic about the tournament itself. There's enough information elsewhere that people who are concerned about the tournament organizer can do a few simple searches and decide for themselves about attending this event.

5. I am not trying to prosecute OR defend Steve. This all stems from the Dakka rules.

6. I will not be attending BeakyCon.

Thank you.

Trust me, no matter what damage they have the potential to do, single-shot weapons always flatter to deceive in 40k.                                                                                                       Rule #1

As stated above, any further discussions about Steve Turner AKA Black Blow Fly (etc.) going forward will be considered off topic and a violation of Dakka rules, under the policy about not speaking ill of a permamently-gone Dakka member who cannot defend themselves.

How many people are going to be in attendance? If its a true GT and there are more than 30 I would consider since its in my back yard. I haven't been to a GT since 2001 so it would be interesting to break out the wolves again.

Otherwise its no different from the Rogue Trader Tournaments at either Sci Fi City or The Amorous Armadillo other than the cost of the tournament, gas, and lodging. These stores consistantly have between 8-15 tables used at each event.

If I attend I am expecting something Grand.

The upper cap is 50 players in the GT. There is a list of pre registered players over on the blog...

http://BeakyCon.blogspot.com

There will be plenty of prize support for the winners and there will be Beaky poker chips for objective markers and Beaky dice handed out at the event.
