Bah. Who needs experience to govern when you have boltguns?

"You, have your men set up the tent for our Chapter party. And bring lots of booze."

"Now wait a minute. I'm part of the royal family here. I'll not be..."

BLAM!

"You, have HIS men set up the tent for our Chapter party. And bring lots of booze."

"No problem. You want beer or mixed drinks like Cosmopolitans?"

"I think we both know the answer to that!"

@Zuul - read the apoc formations. Lught gave the IG the leman russes, and had his boys crew the superheavy...

@melissa - Several IA's (1,2 and 9) quote that marines are sometimes gifted superheavy tanks and take them. Also, there were instances during the 2nd armageddon war and 1st armageddon war (WD 240's IIRC) where superheavies were requisitioned by the salamanders etc for use.

A baneblade makes sense in a SM army in a siege situation, and several chapters are in fact siege armies essentially.

and who is there to say that there arn't other marine chapters who also have little empires like Maccragge?

I have my Chapter ruling a small empire in the Galactic core and they have command of the IG equivilant, including Super Heavies.
Generally because it was explicitly forbidden following the Heresy and the Inquisition really hates it, but the Ultramarines are, as always, "special".

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

They are still much bigger than the average human...

I have to call BS.
Spoiler:

A Techmarine in FULL SERVO HARNESS drove a super heavy in Helsreach.

Too big to fit in a super heavy? No way. It's in a book, so it's cannon.

Goto wrote books as well...

And it's not like they "don't fit", but from the lore Space marines are indeed much bigger than the average human, especially their hands. Have you tried typing on a keyboard with gloves on? It wouldn't be much different... At the very least the commands would have to be completely refitted, and given the way human technology works in wh40k I'm not even sure it's doable at all. That said you could have servitors or humans drive the thing.

Space Marine Superheavies can be doen if you want them - I personally can see them now and again appearing in the standard "exception that proves the rule" 40k style.

They could be created especially as had been suggested by the AM as a reward/repayment to allow Marines to use or servitors/Chapter Thrall could use (Like the Space ships).

I'd be quite happy to see rules and model as a Appoclapsye template............

I AM A MARINE PLAYER

He couldn't be any more cramped than this guy.

Being loaned equipment for a battle is not the same as being given it permanently.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

But if it's being loaned, it should be painted the space marine chapter's color so it doesn't clash.

Never go into battle with clashing colored armaments.

Well yeah, you don't want it to stick out like that and become even MORE of an obxious target.

Yeah 'cause a freaking umpteen tons of tank, firing jillions of kgs of explosive ammunitions towards your lines and making the ground itself tremble while moving are hard to spot normally...

Oh wait... CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!
