Bright Yellow just shows how manly they are. Picture this: you're wearing terminator armour, and need to get to cover 150m away because there are lascannons firing at you. Instead of being all shadowy like the RG, you walk out, proudly, wearing the most visible colour in the galaxy (other than Slaanesh things). You'd need balls like grapefruits

And Darnath Lysander is older than Dante, as well as being "that guy who jumps out of the thunderhawk without a parachute because he wants to get to the battle quicker". Not that astartes use parachutes...but you get what I mean

He is older in real space but actual physical age he isn't older...

Well, he is definately older in realspace, but we don't know his physical age. For all we know, time could have been moving slower while he was in the warp.

Either way, he survived in the warp for ~1000 years=badass.

It just said he was in there for "many centuries", if it was less than one thousand, it probably would have just said "for centuries".

Also, he is so badass that, after being tortures for YEARS by the Iron Warriors, broke out and killed his captors, UNARMED.

Buck Nasty of the Rainbow Warriors, obviously. Man, I almost want to start a Rainbow Warriors army just because of him.

My least favourite is Sarpedon. Mostly because I found the Soul Drinker books poorly written and not grimdark enough. They evoked horrible memories of William King's Space-Wolves flying around in Thunderhawks making fart jokes.

I think the term used by most people is Mary Sue...

Gonna have to give my vote to Lord Asterion Moloc, Master of the Minotaurs.
He makes his living keeping space marine chapters in line, that's gotta be the most difficult of tasks.

As an Ultramarines player and fan I have got to vote for Marneus Calgar. Though I have always liked Dante of the Blood Angels as he was the first character I read about when I first got into 40k. And Logan Grimnar of the Space Wolves takes the final spot in my top 3.

semi-unrelated, My top 5 favourite Spess Mareens of all time.

1. Lysander-he was in the warp, just like draigo, but while draigo was just chilling, Lysander was enduring the worst torture the warp could come up with-and stayed sane.

2. Sarpedon-He's a Fuckin' spider who destroyed a tomb world. Plus he fought Lysander.

3. Sigismund-I hate the BT, but being the first Emperor's champion is a BIG deal, plus he was 1st captain while the greatest Primarch was still around.

4. Alessio Cortez-1st captain of the Crimson Fists, and he can't die. He also managed to kill two warbosses himself, one right after the other, and walked away. Chuck Norris.
