I was going to do Word Bearers for my first Chaos army, but moved to The Cleaved, I love the colours, It's just that if you want your list to go with fluff then you should take lots of Daemons, but i'm more competitive and due to the amount of plague marines I have i went for The Cleaved.

Malcharion was an exception in that he hadn't been awoken once since his entombment.

To OP: Its because the emperor thinks they failed their mission in the great crusade (btw they didnt) and made everyone hate them, leading to their heresy. They did do plenty of good stuff: found the eye of terror, found cadia, saved some people on (sry forget name but cyrene was on it) and many more things.

I don't think he was fully sane, but chaos Dreadnaughts are normally just footnotes, especially during the horus heresy books, they are normally mentioned but we never get an insight into them.

Actually, they did. Kor-Phaeron, the First Captain, never let go of his ties to the Old Faith of Colchis, although he didn't know it was Chaos at the time. He encouraged Lorgar to seek answers. Lorgar basically took command after he learned of Chaos during his journey into The Eye of Terror. So, it was the Word Bearers who started the Heresy.

Thanks for spoiling the book (although it is kInDa obvious )
