DE took forever, kinda worth the wait.
I love Space Marines, but holy moly...just seems like there's no point when I am just going to have to update them again right away.

DE are very nice, except that the ones that appeal to me codex-wise aren't as nice (coven). They still waited a few years longer than they should have If they'd come out 4 years ago i'd have played them instead of playing Tyranids, and then getting cruelly disappointed by the codex update.

SM are getting to be the Mcdonalds of 40K. All the adverts tell you that they are tasty, special, delicious and come in all sorts of varieties, but they are all bland, with synthetic cheese on some of them that makes you sick to the stomach I used to love space marines, back when. They've really be soured for me these days.

They've been reviled for years. Mocked and scorned, too.

whether they'll be REVEALED is a different matter.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

That's what I loved about the last edition, you could do so much with custom chapters, which was fantastic!

Pan Fo?

Someone on Dakka wrote a really bad fan codex for his own race called the Pan Fo. He misspelled "revealed" so it was "the pan fo will be reviled!" which would be a clever play on words if the writer knew what they were doing.

I brought this up in another thread in the news and rumors section about how GW has been making a return to old school ideas. It started when they put the Shokk Attack Gun back in the Ork codex and has just been building in the years since, with the conversion beamer and thunderfire cannon (really just a thudd gun) in the Space Marine codex, the Jokearo in the GK dex, and the rumors of Squats/Demiurg showing up in the Tau codex in one way or another. I like it.

Not to mention how the Tyranids swung wildly away from their 3rd edition counterparts and the 4th ed. ones seem to be more streamlined versions of existing critters - just look at the Hive Tyrant with its pseudo 2nd edition pose and weapon armament.

Then you have the return of Boneswords for Warriors along with Lash whips....

Now only a CSM player.

I'm actually waiting for the re-release of Fimir and Zoats. If they can make and sell a Lamasu then can do a Fimir and a Zoat.

As they were able to knock out a Fen Beast etc with Fine Cast I don;t see why they won't do it for those two...I mean...they haven't been produced for nearly 20yrs so...why bother to put them in?...the models only exist in the 2nd hand market...so there is no profit to them...unless they make the models!!

Incidental I am also waiting for a WFB8 expansion with Forgeworld for battles on sea (see Man O War)...(and presense of landship and picture of DE ships beaching) as well as rules for water based attacks....
