From what i've read, abaddon basically though horus forfeited any right to lead the chaos armies when he lost to the emperor. He wouldn't try to resurrect horus even if that was possible since if he did, he'd be resurrecting a rival to his reign as well as someone he deems as unworthy of leadership anymore
"Horus was weak. Horus was a fool. He had the whole galaxy within his grasp and he let it slip away."
As has already been said, this pretty conclusively knocks on the head any possibility of Abaddon resurrecting Horus, whether that would even be possible after his mind-zapping at the hands of the Emperor.
The background hasn't always been that way, however, Slaves to Darkness suggested the Black Legion indeed intended Horus' return (unless 'remake' is taken to be entirely metaphorical).
Who pledged his loyalty?
The Warmaster Whom did we serve in faith?
The Warmaster From whom did we take our name?
The Warmaster Who was denied to us?
The Warmaster But whom shall we remake?
The Warmaster And who shall lead us to victory?
The Warmaster

Not wanting to start the BL cannon or not debate, but isn't there a part in Galaxy in Flames of Loken having a vision in the temple? He see's the EoT and the Black Legion spilling out of it, Abbadon is there, and Horus leading them.
While the source of the vision was from Chaos and could be said it was twisting the vision to win Loken over or break him, every other future vision shown has been what happened. Perhaps ofcourse it's just been left open for another storyline at some point where the story advances only in the storylines duration. A long year is 999.M41
*bursts though room with axe* HEEEAAARRRS JHONNY!!!

He ain't coming back.
The Emperor ripped Horus's soul to pieces, shredding was the word I think, so it's fragmented, but still in the Warp somewhere.
Abaddon led a raid to destroy the Horus clones that Fabius Bile made, so it seems he doesn't want Horus coming back.
I think by 'remake' they meant 'choose another', as in remake the title or choosing Abaddon as the new Horus.

Yeah, after Horus lost, Abaddon thought Horus was weak and decided that he should surpass him. I doubt he would let Horus surpass him in the eyes of the gods of chaos anyway.
He still isn't a Daemon Prince so he kind of isn't worth 2 squats to the chaos gods...
He isn't a Daemon Prince because no single God favors him heavily enough to "gift" him with Daemonhood.
He is, however, the only leader amongst the servants of the Dark Gods to have the favor of all four Ruinous Powers.
Just because a warleader hasn't been turned into a Daemon Prince doesn't mean he's accomplished nothing or that he's not worth looking at. Too many "gifts" of Daemonic mutations can be just as useless as none.
Actually, he's refused Princehood twelve times for unknown reasons. Probably the same reasons as the other Chaos champions.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.

He had his butt kicked on Armageddon, and the others would get no better treatment than Mortarion who had his heart violated.
FYI, Magnus took his entire legion to the Fang and got wacked by 100 SW, Dreadnoughts and PDF (or the Fenris equivalent).
They also accomplished their mission and didn't get whacked they left when the Space Wolves fleet arrived. Magnus's possesed body did get smacked around by Bjorn and a few other dudes though.

Lorgar and Perturabo need to wake the eff up and get to killin'.

Quick question, don't want to start a thread for. Is Perturbo a Demon Prince. I don't remember when or how it happened, pretty sure he is though.

Yup, but all he does is sit in his fortress on Medrengard.

FYI
Spoiler:
Magnus, possessing the body of one of his captains, not even in his true form, led what was left of his Legion, around 700 Marines, against one of the most formidable fotresses in the Imperium, and captured it. Nearly the entire company was killed, including thousands of serfs. Every defence was breached, the Fang was taken by the Sons. The research was destroyed. The Sons only retreated once the rest of the Space Wolves returned. Magnus was bested by two Terminators, a Wolf Priest and a Wolf Lord, and an extremely old Dreadnought, and that was whilst his power had faded.
Angron caused the death of billions, slaughtering nearly a hundred Grey Knights before being banished. He didn't 'have his but kicked', far from it.
The daemon primarchs are mostly preoccupied with thier own agendas in the warp (lorgar has shut himself off from even his own legion for some reason) the only primarch to have left the eye was Angron.
Killing a primarch being accomplishing little? Fulgrim killed Guilliman after becoming a DP. When they leave the Warp, it generally results in havoc for the Imperium. That rarely happens though, apart from the Alpha Legion being somewhere in Imperial Space with two non-daemons.
