*bursts though room with axe* HEEEAAARRRS JHONNY!!!

I was recently inspired by a battle against necrons I had and I thought while Abbadon is the leader and thought of horus as his father and got depressed when he died I was thinking "what if Abbadon used his demonic energy's to keep a necron lord alive for enough time to use a ressurection orb in the warp (mainly for unlimited demonic power) then perhaps he could ressurect his old master..."

what do you think Abbadon necron hunting.

do you think it could happen or is it too much.

or do you think it would take more than one ressurection orb to get the legendary warmaster back.

cheers for all comments

my inspirational battle:

"Oblivion" meaning nothingness. There was nothing left of Horus to recover, aside from the husk that contained his essence.

Horus soul was destroyed by the Emperor.
He simply doesn't exist anymore.

A resurrection orb resurrecting Horus's essence in the warp?

...

Aside from the giant leap of necrotech actually functioning in the warp, the orb seems to jump-start the self-repair process of necrons, not somehow resurrect flesh and blood beings, let alone resurrect organics using their soul.

Doesn't the Abbadon quote go "Horus was weak, He had the entire galaxy in his grasp and let it slip away." or something like that.

Yeah, after Horus lost, Abaddon thought Horus was weak and decided that he should surpass him. I doubt he would let Horus surpass him in the eyes of the gods of chaos anyway.

After the HH the emperor's children created multiple clones of Horus however the black legion attacked them and destroyed the clones. While it's possible to create a clone of horus, abaddon isn't going to be doing it.

I know the Black Legion attacked the Emperors Children after they tryed making clones. But doesn't the Black Legion currently own Horus's body after the battle? I thought the whole point of the battle was to retrieve his body. If so it makes it definitely plausible........

But Necrons have no souls..... So the res orb brings them back to life...... It makes it plausible.

Considering that the warp is anathema to the Necrons, I'm fairly certain a Resurrection Orb would not work in the warp, nor could it be made to by any means.

I actually wasn't aware that the Emperor destroyed Horus's soul, but it's certainly believable.

Also, the resurrection orb doesn't bring Necrons back to life, in the literal sense, as Necrons aren't alive per se. It facilitates their self-repair function. It's got nothing to do with souls, as I don't think Necrons have them

the warp is anathema to the Necrons. But considering how far the Black Legion has expanded into the Cadian Gate, if they were to do such a thing it could be relatively easy as they would be away from the warp.

Necrons do have souls when they were the Necrontyr they transferred their souls into the living metal to achieve immortality unfortunately the C'tan didn't tell them they would basically be mindless slaves for eternity.

I just read the codex maybe 20 minutes ago. The Necrons DO NOT have souls. The only Necrons that do are the Immortals and the Lords because they went into the Necrodermis first. The rest of the Necron warriors are soul-less mindless automations. It says it in the codex. Also the Nightbringer harvested thousands of the Necrontyr souls to enter the material realm. Some Necrons have sould but the ones that can be resurrected by a res orb are the ones that are soul-less mindless automations.

Well, the OP said "in the warp".

The thing is, no one has the slightest clue how Necron technology works. It is, for all intents and purposes to everyone who isn't a Necron, magic. Again, the "Resurrection" Orb does not bring dead Necrons back to life, as Necrons generally do not die. When they are so heavily damaged that they cannot self repair, they simply disappear from the battlefield, and IIRC they appear back at their Tomb World where they are rebuilt by other Necron constructs specifically designed for this purpose.

That leads me to the other problem with this plan: How would Abaddon get his hands on a Resurrection Orb? Not even he would be powerful enough to successfully plunder a Necron tomb, and even if he did, I imagine the Orb would simply be teleported back to the tomb world.

I may be wrong on that, but your still not getting Horus back as his soul is gone. Even if they could manage to find and use a res orb, highly unlikely. Whatever they did bring back would not be Horus, but a mindless automaton if anything, as his mind and soul are gone. This debate is even more over because Abbadon would not try to bring him back.

Ya thats true I couldnt see Abaddon wanting to bring him back in the first place considering the Black Legion cough couch Sons of Horus is now HIS personal warband.

Souls have nothing to do with clones. Horus was cloned even though his soul was obliterated by the emperor, the DKoK use a type of cloning and they still have souls. Dark Eldar souls get eaten but they are still able to clone. It appears that the process of cloning creates a soul.

What remains of Horus' body was captured by the Black Legion after the battle and Abaddon destroyed it. It's going to be almost impossible for anyone to recreate Horus, because their are no know remains. If they could find a scrap of his body it would be possible.

We don't have much information on how that turned out. They could not have been functional or the Black Legion would not have been capable of destroying. Whether or not they ever would have worked is not, as far as I know, known.

I have a Horus clone in my army, a Black Legion army at that. Abby destroyed Horus's body because the Emperors Childeren desicrated the body of Horus by cloning him (upsetting the Sons of Horus) several times. Abby attacked and destroyed the body because the other chapters would be following a false leader and Abby was the hire of Horus's Heresy and would not share power. But I got a clone just incase I play a pre Heresy game

Horus' soul was obliterated by the Emperor at the end of the First Battle for Terra.
What remained of his body was recaptured from the Emperor's Children and destroyed by the Black Legion.
There is simply no way to bring the sixteenth Primarch back. He's gone for good.

Even if someone had his DNA and tried to clone him, they wouldn't be able to bring the real Horus back to life because his soul no longer exists.
The Emperor's Children tried this with Horus and failed.
The Imperium tried this with Warmaster Macharius and failed.

It is not the same soul and it is not the same man. You cannot use technology to creat something that doesn't exist in material world, in other words: you cannot use technology to create very essence of someone. Horus was cloned, but we don't know who that was, he surely wasn't Horus. Maybe his memories but not the man that he was. As for Krieg, when did you compare two clones to determine their personalities?
