I found Dakka back when it was a website/forum for a game store. I think the software got changed once or even twice since then, and everyone had to re-register.
The best thing that ever came from Dakka were rules for a 40k racing game that used to be played in Russ's store.

Obydon Rally was awesome.  One of the themed tables at the Dakka Dakka store was a greyish desert table with patches of obsidian rock and spires scattered over it, and it was named Obydon (each of the tables was named after the planet it represented in the 40k universe). That off-road rally racing (and of course shooting and ramming one another) game was a ton of fun. As was Dreadnought Arena Combat, another favorite (with its own unique table as well). I pressed the button that said 'Login' and typed 'Mr. Self Destruct' in the top box.
What.
More specifically, I became aware of Warseer and Dakka right around when I started 40k just by looking and I found Dakka to be more enjoyable.

Wow, somebody remembers! "Obydon Rally" - so that's what it was called! - was played for many summers in a little country on the other side of the globe. It was probably the most fun I've ever had with 40k miniatures.
