While I loved the idea Doom, I had my doubts as to the final quality of the paint job. I'm shocked at how well it turned out, all things considered. Question though: in my own (extensive) experience with human blood, it turns brown when it dries. What was your specific experience with it?

Of course it's not going to look good, that's not the point. His point is that at least dipping models gets results way better than this. So should people needlessly handicap themselves if they paint poorly with one method when dipping offers and alternative which leads to a decent paintjob?

I think the little 'nid looks pretty awesome. It has a very natural look.

Whilst I believe the "is army painter really fair" thread is just childish and immature, I also believe the same of this thread (but not as bad). Is it really ok for you to lower yourself to the standards of other threads that are exetremly childish. The question you have to ask your self is "am I being just as immature". Whilst this thread does prove a good point it is just as childish as the last. This thread does prove a point, but it is the wrong sort of point. It only seeks revenge for dammage done by an immature 14 year old boy.

I applaud you sir! Truly the Ray Mears of the wargaming world, or who is the American one, Bear Grylls.

I clicked on this thinking it would be a puritan painter, with his ambiguous title. But it seems not.

But the thing is I hate bandwagon wars, and all I see is people bandwagoning to this "Army Painter is unfair" biz. And then somebody pops up this "saying army painter is cheating is childish" biz, and everybody flocks to that.

Wandwagoning and debating are one of the same.

You know what I say, eff that. We should respect those who paint their army in a "puritan" way. We should respect those who just want to get an army looking good. We should respect those who want to paint the hard way for the fun of it, this doom guy is choosing that way to the extreme yes, but the point still stands.
