Gee-dub is 28mm.

You do realize 28mm means nothing without the right words?

Though they have said the size so far seems to be a compromise between Perry and GW sizes

Latecomer to the discussion, but the figs thus far look great, and having Naismith on as sculpter is definitely a step in the right direction.

Not anymore. Sole to eye, most of the currently releases of GW figs are in the 30-32mm range. May not seem like a huge difference, but placed next to standard less-heroic 28mm figs, GW figs are massive.

That said, if they are using some older GW bretonians as scale refference, it's likely that this will be a unit that would scale fine on the board with current GW as long as you don't try to mix GW figs into the same unit. Will likely scale well with Perry too, though in both cases, how well they will look stylistically will have to wait until we see the final figs.

Yes I'm really hoping they will work well with Perry as well, will work nicely as a Bretonnian/Empire stand-in army.

I wish these other companies would do stuff that didn't follow lockstep to GW's 40k 3rd/WHFB 5th edition sculpts.

I've got my eye on this company- I like the sculpts, and really like the style- they're full of movement and energy. That fact that they plan on completing each range sounds great to my ears, as well, as I'm envisioning an entire army with the same scale and style, rather than something cobbled together from different sources. I also like the idea of them being priced like Perry's plastics. I'll definitely be buying a few boxes of these knights, and I hope the entire Teutonic range is as awesome- I also hope they all comes out soon!

And I for one am glad that they do. I don't like GWs current Bret Knights. My Bret army is comprised of all 5th edition knights, grail knights, questing knights, and the metal MAAs. So this company producing models that scale somewhat with that style and size is perfect for me.

I also have lots of Perry crusaders for my historicals army, and again, this will fit right in size wise. Of course, these are a bit later than my first crusade force, but the plastis will be very customizeable.

GWs cav, particularly the Brets, are oversized and clunky looking in general.

This will be at the top of my to buy list! They look awesome. I have always wanted to create a Bretonnian army based on the crusades. Now that it is a lot more achievable I may start WHFB army. Or I will buy this as a one off purchase. Either way I want some of these!

FireForge has posted the kit for pre-order.

At roughly $31 per box (12 cavalry) these appear to be an excellent value.

FireForge has world wide shipping for £1. Makes up for the lack of any US distributor.

While I have this kit on pre-order, I'm more excited by the infantry kits to follow. I need tons of troops to build out Hail Caesar armies.

Hmm not sure, since they're still working on the sprues (which is why there arent any horses yet in 28mm) I'd assume Jan-Feb?
