The guy started with 26 terminators in drop pods, with Logan and a bunch of guys with Multi Meltas. Five turns later he had only 8 terminators left, one of those being Logan Grimnar, the other being a Rune Priest and the rest were just a squad of guys. I was playing Eldar. I just don't feel there is enough firepower in lists like that.

Hey, thanks for evaluating Terminator armies based solely on a single experience with them. That sure is helpful.

If Draigowing was so bad, there wouldn't be people going to 'ard Boyz semifinals running it.

Your welcome. Just because I gave one example doesn't mean that it only happens once in a while. Certain army builds WILL kill dragio wing pretty consistently. The problem with all terminator armies is that they do not have the firepower to take down both troops and vehicles. They can usually do one or the other but not both. Notice that I also didn't say draigo wing was bad, I just said it's not worth it. Especially vs Eldar. There is so much firepower available to an eldar army that exclusively terminator armies have a very hard time stopping them. The Psychic defense Eldar brings forces the Grey knight player to take abilities he normally wouldn't as well, such as the one that makes them always pass their perils tests when they would rather have something else.

I also didn't say Draigo wing was the only style of terminator army either. There are other kinds. But again, I don't think they're worth it. A more balanced approach is better in my opinion. Some terminators are great but I haven't really been bothered by great numbers of them. The problem usually comes down to I have more mobility than terminators do and can run circles around them most of the game shooting them to death while all of those TT/SS termies struggle to come to grips with anything.

But I am talking mainly about all terminator builds here. Once a person balances out their force to include more support vehicles and such then it becomes a little harder to just run circles around terminators. But if you don't bring that kind of support and just go all terminators it can be a struggle. And one that in my opinion isn't worth risking because you may just run in to a player that built an army to deal with it. Especially since Draigo Wing seems to be the new go to army at tournaments.

"Khorne is a noble warrior who respects strength and bravery, who takes no joy in destroying the weak, and considers the helpless unworthy of his wrath. It is said that fate will spare any brave warrior who calls upon Khorne's name and pledges his soul to the blood god. It is also said that Khorne's daemons will hunt down and destroy any warrior who betrays his honour by killing a helpless innocent or murdering in cold blood..."

I usually run my termies as a death wing or a logan wing. I never have problems with tanks, or fire power. Then again I did not jump on the storm shield banwagon either. Most of my termies are still spoprting their trusty storm bolters. One heavy, one chain fist, one power weapon, and either one thunder hammer or lightning claw per squad makes it divers enough to allocate well. Cyclones do very well at both anti- infantry and anti-tank, and chain fists are the perfect anti tank weapon. It also helps to back them up with a few land raiders, and it beats termies walking.

Nobody has mentioned Black Templars. Although you can't go terminators only with them, you can take a pretty good core of terminators. At 2k you can take 3 minimum sized crusader squads in laserbacks, along with 3 terminator squads with tank hunters and two assault cannons, a terminator castellan and terminator command squad with tank hunters and 2 assault cannons, and a terminator chaplain with terminator command squad, tank hunters, and 2 assault cannons. That's 27 terminators, plus 15 PA marines in 3 laserbacks. I've never played this type of army though, and have't thought too much about how it would play against other armies.

Or you could do it properly and get CMLs instead of assault cannons.
