I do pretty much the same as the OP i.e. about 30 miles a week of running. Good for the soul

In the UK, we have a series of 5K running events held every Saturday called Park Runs. They're free to enter and they're timed so you can see if you're improving each week. Worth a look if you live in the vicinity of one.

Your feet have evolved into the perfect mechanism for running over thousands of years, and shoes just get in the way of the foot's natural mechanics. I had the flattest arches in the world, and running barefoot cured them. I can't stress the benefits of running barefoot enough.

I tried walking around in bare feet when I went outside, but after about a week my feet started harden and peel. Stopped after that they just looked and felt too gross.

Look at getting some Fivefingers. I know a couple people that swear by these things...I plan on getting a pair when my Pumas are no longer wearable

Hopefully I'm getting some fivefingers this weekend. I prefer running barefoot, but there are no nearby tracks or trails that I can legally use.

I haven't been out running in months because I'm not really a fan, but thrice in the past while jogging I've stepped on glass that embedded into my shoes. Do I just have bad luck?
With that said, I have never been inspired to run barefoot.
