Mechdar list thought:
How about instead of 2X Fire Prisms and a Night Spinner, you go 2x Fire Prisms and a unit of outflanking Scatter Walkers for disruption purposes? Does that mesh well with a fully mech list?

This is an amazing tactica...
But I think you are a little harsh on the Dark Reapers.
They are really good in Footdar lists if used properly, or I can see.
Do you have any advice on Aspect Armies?

ALL OF THEM. But on the charge only, but they gain a strenght boost as well. if you ment striking scorpions, then i dont get it, they DONT have pw at all - ok, the Exarch may have a scorpion claw aka powerfist. not spirit stones, not singing spear...did i miss anything? good to be almost back

For he who can make the enemy unable to hit back only wins the battle.
For he who makes an entire army unable to attack, wins a war. Stay in cover where you get 2+ |

@enfernux the PW attacks were referring to the Warp Spiders. And the fleet rule was referring to the Scorpions.
@Akaean, any advice regarding larger point games including apocalypse?

Question... How would you change your fast list if IA is allowed in light of issue 11? Alternatively, Corsairs?

I'm also interested in this, given the swathe of new shiny things an Eldar player can toy with. Hornets and Warp Hunters suddenly make Mechdar look very, very juicy.

If they were ever insane enough to allow IA then the Hornet and Warphunter would be immediate includes. Hornets are great for their cost and Warphunters are downright broken with their hellhound style flamer that has D-Cannon stats.

Warp Hunters aren't really broken (i've used them a good few times, and as soon as people realise that all they need to do is shake it, they're usually fine) but they are very effective. The Aether Rift is only 6" from the barrel, as opposed to a Hellhound's 12", and whilst it is a template, anyone who knows this (see: everyone, since it's an IA unit and so everyone wants to know what it's capable of so that they can moan about it and tell you it's OP) will be making as much use of the 2" coherency as possible in order to mitigate damage, and you can only tank shock the unit into shape so many times before you've committed far more points to killing that squad than it was ever worth. I find myself utilising the Large Blast more than the template, since getting the thing over to a template-able unit unscathed is a battle in itself, even with stones and holofields. Chucking the large blast out from 36" away has proved far more useful than trying to get it close enough to a unit without being shaken or having the cannon torn off. Being Barrage means that it can ignore a decent amount of cover saves anyway (area terrain and things like Smoke Launchers are obvious exception), can also pin a unit in place from the pinning check caused by the inevitable casualties it takes, and lay down the hurt on parking lots thanks to the centre of the blast being unimportant (smoke gives cover regardless, disruption pods can't be scattered outside of with 2D6 etc. etc.). My Hornets, however, are yet to impress me. Scatter Lasers were inneffective as per usual (my Serpents rarely do a thing with theirs; they could be firing rotten cabbages at things for all the good they've done) and Pulse Lasers are really quite expensive, and tend to whiff a lot (the amount of times i've rolled 4-6 to hit and 1-3 to penetrate AV12 is annoyingly large; even against the rear of a predator and a vindicator, it took several turns for two Pulse Hornets to kill them both). All that said, I still live in hope that my dice are just horrific when rolling for Scatter and Pulse Lasers, and one day they'll actually work as intended.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Is this going to be updated with suggestions for 6th edition? I feel like things have changed a lot and jetbikes have gotten better to the point that we may need to lean heavily on them. Any ideas Akaean?

This, I haven't played enough 6th edition, especially competitive 6th edition which is what is useful for this type of thing to really comment on how things have changed. And I'll probably hold off on doing any serious strategy until the edition is a bit older.
If truth be told, I've been playing more with my Guard than my Eldar this edition since I am frustrated by the lack of a pure Eldar anti air option, so my Eldar are waiting for that flier second wave, or a new codex to drop so that I can shoot down enemy birds. I have noticed that Guardian Jetbikes are awesome objective grabbers, Rangers are somewhat cool now but still not worthwhile upgrading to pathfinders, Fast Attack like Swooping Hawks and Warp Spiders are much improved but I'm not sure if they are worth it.
There will be a good 6th edition Eldar tactica I'm sure of it, I may even be the one who writes it , but I think that the edition is too young to write anything accurately, and I am not confident enough in my knowledge of the edition to do the job justice. I'm sure that there are still useful tactics contained in this, but be aware that many tactics have been outdated...
